Trophy Harder to Get?

Bishsticks congratulations on the early win. I've had quite a few pre level 10 wins lately. I've been tracking things some lately and 2 things I have noticed.

If I haven't got a trophy by level 30 I have less than a 20% chance of getting it on 30. It is almost a waste to even play the level. I am more likely to get out on level 30 (If I reach it) and even when I beat it, 80% of the time I still won't get a trophy.

Next trend is level 27 generates more trophies for me than any other level. 2x more than any other level.

Over the next few days I plan on seeing how many games I have to play to get a trophy on level 10 or below. I can usually get past level 10 in 5 minutes and might be able to do it faster if I play 2 games at a time.

Electra: you are so amazing! I am imagining you doing two Operation Gumball games while also watering your numerous (30+) gardens all at the same time (maybe also while juggling google berries in real life). LOL. I can only imagine how many new Gumball players will read your post several times over, scratch their heads, and say, “Two games at once?! That’s crazy!" as they struggle to even get past level 2. Jillion, thank you for the kind words. I tried 2 at once today and it saved a little time but not worth the stress. A few weeks ago I tried to play 3 but didn't take long before I ran out of time. One of my kids is real good at the game too. He does things different than I do in the game. His method works really well on 3,4,5 digit puzzles. I do level 10 and 20 for him. It's kind of funny because we are in different rooms and he calls out the red and green count and I writing things down and calling out numbers. He does the 2 digit 12121 like I do but instead of piecing the numbers together 1 by 1 he goes down the list 12121 34343 56565 until he has the 5 numbers and then puts the final number together. I can't do mine that way but it works amazingly well for him. If he can adapt his method to work on level 10 and 20 he will beat me and eventually stomp my times into the ground. As I typed this he went through things pretty fast so I timed him. He was past level 9 in 4:01

Goodness, Elektra...Three games at once...what a challenge for your mind! I might be able to do two, after a few cups of coffee. LOL. I'll try that next time I'm feeling really sharp.

I often use a strategy similar to your son's (sometimes, depending on the results of a few other tests) in combination w/ a few other strategies. But I find when the number become 5 digits, it's often easier for me to test inside-outside like 56665 and 87778 rather than sticking with the alternating digits. I think conceptually it's easier to remember the results of the test that way: it's either on the inside OR the outside.

Then at 6-digit, I sometimes shift to a right-left pattern 666777 and 888999. Again it's seems easier to think in a two-state sort of way, splitting the 6-digits into two groups of three. So, I can figure out which digits are in the number as well as whether it's on the left OR the right. I tend not to use paper & pencil when I play, so keeping track of inside/out or left/right is easier for me then the results of the alternating. [Pictures, like Hamlet's would be so nice to get this idea across...if only we were all so organized!]

Whatever the strategy used, it's a great game for your brain. When I go down to visit my folks at Christmas, I'm going to dig out up my old Mastermind game and teach my kids how to play. If they can master that, without the time constraint, they hopefully will get to like Op Gumball. That way, by the time they get to middle school, they can have whole rooms of trophies!

Do not know....I don't play that game!! But in goober's lab, it is harder to get trophies.

I was showing my son the finer points of the game today and he won the trophy on level 5. Could not have been better timing! Of course, now he thinks it's easy....

Grrrrrrrrr! Haha! I'm happy for you and your son, williamson, but I completed the game yesterday (AGAIN) and made it to level 28 twice, and still no trophy. I've only been playing a few games a day recently, but I'm not giving up...yet anyway.

I've had a bad day on the game today, getting out on some earlier than normal levels. On a positive note I won a trophy on level 4.

Sorry suzzie621, I missed your post! We're talking about Operation Gumball. It has a total of 30 levels which are organized into three sets of 10, so 'late in the game' means in the 20s. The odds of winning a trophy in this game improve in higher levels, but it is random, and never guaranteed. When you finish a level, you will sometimes see a third line in the scoring summary window for that level - the fine print says "A surprise has been added to your dock" or something like that. Check the sticky blue threads in the middle of the overall 'gamez' forum for a couple of guides to trophies in general.
