For me, the trick to this game is to not over think. It is a process of elimination. If you only guess two different numbers and you get either a green or red ball then you know at least one of those numbers is correct (although maybe not in the right spot).

It's not really a game you can "follow directions" on because every number is different. If you just start by only guessing one or two numbers you can be more sure about your future guesses. I always start with two unknowns usually: 1,1,2 my kids on the other hand prefer to just guess 1,1,1 so they either know for sure if it is a 1 or not.

There are great instructions at the beginning of this thread-unfortunately I didn't find them until AFTER I figured the game out, but if you read through it enough times, it might eventually make sense!

Thanks so much for this information. I have just basically avoided playing this because I couldn't figure it out. But after reading your tutorial, I have played and made it to level 5 so far. Before I got frustrated by level 2. So, thanks a lot.

I, too, played the game "Mastermind" but a little later in my life.

I didn't grow up playing it. But you have corrected and informed my playing of the game. Now that I have found your post, I am going to go back and work at the game to see if I can improve my scores. WHOO HOO! I FINALLY completed the game. I've made it to level 30 in the past, but never beat it. Thought I'd share my photo with all the O.G. freaks like me!

I just read that thread that mentioned a lost trophy due to webkinz's going on the fritz (I think it was you). My friend actually had the same thing happen to him when he won his Goober's Lab trophy. He got booted off and it wasn't in his dock when he logged back on.

And YES it DOES feel good. They sure don't leave much room for error on those last three levels do they? I can get up to 29 quite a bit, but usually bomb out on that one. I've actually only made it to 30 a handfull of times...PHEW! Lucky me I got the trophy at the end of that one!

I've made it to lev 30 about 4 times, no trophy. Of course, if i win a trophy, I quit, as you said, so I won't loose it. I've won lev 30 twice. But i have't played in over a week due to the glitches. Hope to play tonight! i'm getting less glitches now.

This game is impossible!!! I have been playing for forever and a half and, what do you know? - NO TROPHY!!!!!!!! Hamlet, can you send me a trophy, I bet you have a ton! Oh please? I really need it. I have never even won a trophy! Please, I beg of you! PLEASE!!!! My WW username is whitesox123. If you did this I would be so grateful. Actually, I could send you my blue wagon for it because I have seven of them. Thank you!
