Congratulations on your highest level! I know you didn't request it, but this is what I would have done if I were you, to help you do better next time.
121 - red ball
233 - green ball
245 - 2 greens
246 - 2 greens
787 - none
249 - 2 greens
240
Here are some helpful hints about your process and mine:
Since your first guess yielded one red ball (btw, 121 is a great way to start), the next move should have been to put one of the numbers in a DIFFERENT spot than it was in the first time because the ball was RED. I would have tried 2 because it is most likely to be the incorrect number (two spaces as opposed to one). I would put it in the first spot because it is easiest to keep track.
After your third guess yielded no balls, I would have quit with 1 altogether because you KNOW it is not in the answer. Therefore, I would have started to try to place the 2.
As far as my guesses went, when I got a green ball on my second guess I assumed that the 2 was correct even though I didn't know. My third guess made this all the more likely by getting 2 greens. What I did for my third guess was just continue with my 2 in the first spot like I assumed was correct and then added the next numbers in sequence (4,5).
My fourth guess was to test which number (4 or 5) was correct from my third guess. I kept one of them and then added the next number in sequence. The two greens suggested strongly that the first two numbers were 2,4.
After that I simply filled in the last numbers in sequence to find the correct one.
So in order, my processes were:
121 - red ball
233 - green ball (testing red ball from first guess)
245 - 2 greens (confirming 2 and filling in next numbers in sequence)
246 - 2 greens (testing 4 as correct number, next number in sequence)
787 - none (checking if 7 or 8 is the final number [I already know 24_])
249 - 2 greens (testing 9 since only 9 or 0 is left)
240 (correct answer KNOWN to me)
