hi everyone! could someone help me understand how one green ball should come out to this answer. it seems to me that i should have gotten 1 green ball and 2 reds in order to come up with 222. i just don't get it!?

2 reds would mean 2 right numbers, in the wrong place. The 1's in 121 are wrong numbers in the wrong place, hence just one green ball.

i'm not sure i understand. so what you're saying is that there doesn't have to be a ball for each place, just a ball for each correct number. i guess what is confusing is that on an earlier level, in a five place game for example, i've gotten five balls on one line when i used 12121 as my guess. so i had a ball for each place with a final answer of 11222. so does the game change at a certain level (20?) and stop giving you a ball for each spot?

You always get one ball for each number that is correct- green for right number in the right spot, red for right number in the wrong spot. A number you guess that is not in the solution gets no ball at all. So, when you guess, you can have zero balls, or up to 5. The balls don't tell you the position of the correct number either, just that there *is* a correct number. As far as I know, the game is this way all the way through.

That strategy is a real brain twister, isn't it?!

Hi Aslans,
When I'm past level 10, were there could be doubles, I always check the number with the fewest* balls. Since you guessed 121, and got one green ball, you know there cannot be anymore than one "1", but since there is only one "2" in your guess, there could be more than one "2". This could happen in higher level, when you guess 1212, and get two balls, there could be 3 "1s" or "2s". So what i always do, after level 10, when you guess 121 and get one green ball, the next guess is "222". This will rule out if there is just one, zero, or more than one two. I'll share with you something that happened to me. I guessed 78787 and got three balls. I determined there were three 8s. I thought the remaining number was a 9 or 0, so added that, and then ran out of guesses. Know what the last number was? a 7. since I only guessed 2 "8s", the machine replied, there are at least 2 "8s", and a 7.

Good luck to you, aslans! Go for it! OGmball is my favorite game. It pays well after level 20, doesn't it? Be aware that if you make it to lev 30, the chance for a trophy is random. I've only passed lev 30 once, & did not get a trophy. Bummer, but I was thrilled to make it!
