The Diary of a Fly

September 1rst, 2008.

Hello world! So glad to finally meet you!

Wait, what are you talking about? Of course I hatched today! At exactly 8:23am. How else would I be writing to you now? It’s like impossible to do- yes, yes, besides giving it to my parents. But that doesn’t matter. This is my diary, remember?
Anyhow, hatching is SO exciting! You get to break through your little white egg, and fly into the world as a teeny tiny little fly. Even though I was the smallest of all my brothers, my parents nearly smothered me in hugs. I couldn’t see very well, so I also these huge glasses that nearly knocked my over when I put them on…I think they were heavier than me. My brother and sisters keep calling me nork. A cross between a dorrk and a nerd...sad, I know. Pitty me, please. That pretty much recounted my entire day, however short this entry is. Hugs, tripping over my glasses, and getting pushed around. Yup!
I start "Little Flies" Preschool tomorrow...wahoo.

Hello, and sorry for not writing earlier. I didn't end up going to "Little Flies" Or writing yesterday. Wanna know why? Of course you do!
Well...there was a rainstorm. And as you know, nothing can fly in rain. Especially us little flies. Our first day of school was canceled, and our nest was flooded. The only thing I saved *Cough* had was this journal in which I am writing in right now. It was perfectly dry! What more could expect from cedar paper? Made out of the very tree we live in!
But I was thinking about a question you might have...and a reason to make this entry longer. "How come I can write like this right after I hatched."? The answer to that is simply because I am a fly. Though I am really tiny for even us insects, I was fully developed, brain and all when I was born. Of course I am a bit smarter than average...but you get my point.
Well, see ya'll later, Mum and Dad just brought hope a piece of apple for us to all eat. Yum!

[I got this idea from a childrens book I read at the library: "The Diary of a Worm." I loved it so much, I am kind of making my own version, but with a nerdy little fly named Nester. Enjoy!]

P.S: I do LOVE comments, since my dream one day is to finish this and publish it as a childrens comedy
