This is a story I made up for the Unicorn Club, which I think is open. Please post your comments! I did have another one of this thread but that one close too, and I want to keep on working on my master piece. I started writing this a LONG time ago, so sorry if anything is unclear. If you want, I can PM you whenever I add to the story! Enjoy!

Meet The Characters:

The Sapphire Waterfall Forest Herd

Moonlight- The herd's loving leader who becomes sick
Sapphire- A brave and tricky unicorn who goes on a journey. . . .
Flora- The herd's herb-growing unicorn, manages all the plants
Chaser- A proud male unicorn in the herd, has a crush on Sapphire
SilverStar- A very serious,bossy and sometimes mean unicorn
Starbeam- The most foolish non-smart unicorn in the herd
Pearl- A unicorn who can float a few inches from the ground
Dancer- The most annoying unicorn, always gets ignored
Daisy- Just a little foal born half a year ago
Maple- A unicorn with a green horn, claims to be one of them

Here is the summary!
Deep in the forest there is a pearl white herd of unicorns with sapphire horns, where peace it their pride. When they're leader, Moonlight, gets sick everything turns upside down, and it's all of the Coal Black Unicorns fault! They have weakened Moonlight to rule the forest. Worst of all, Sapphire, Flora, and Chaser has galloped away to the mountains to find the secret key that will save the forest. But without them, the herd falls apart and nothing could get better. Will they find what they need in time and return peace to the forest? Join Sapphire, Flora, and Chaser in a adventure that will change their lives forever.

Where Unicorns Roam

Chapter 1
Deep in the forest where the unicorns roam, there was a pearl white herd of magical beasts with glowing sapphire horns. Moonlight, the leader, was sleeping under a weeping willow trees with glimmering leaves. The moon was full, there was a wisp of wind, and not a peep to be heard. The water was still with lily pads of emerald, and over the pure pond was a waterfall of every birthstone.
The next morning when the sleepy unicorns all went over to graze in the sweet fresh grass with still morning dew on it, except for one.
Moonlight went to splash in the water instead. Her wet mane and tail stuck to her body, which made her shiver.Moonlight went to sit in the sun after her cooling bath in the waterfall. She fell asleep.
" Wake up leader! Want to come with us to eat berries for dinner?" Asked Starbeam, standing right next to her.
What was this? Dinner time? It's morning! Thought Moonlight. As she watched all her herd mates walking toward her, she thought what had happened?

Chapter 2
Moonlight looked up at the sky, she saw a beautiful forest sunset with blues, purples, orangey yellow with the some pink.
" Have I been asleep the whole day?" asked Moonlight.
Already knowing the answer.
"You sure have, Master Moonlight" said SilverStar. She was the most serious unicorn in the herd, besides Moonlight.
"So. . . . . . . . are be going to eat berries now? Which kind? Where are we going to pick them? North? East? South? West?" Asked Starbeam very fast and curiously.
Most of the herd mates giggled, some frowned.
" Not now Starbeam, or you can go by yourself. Moonlight looks sick." Sobbed SilverStar.
All the unicorns stayed, only eating the left overs from breakfast. Moonlight had a forest fever, that is caused by not eating enough sweet grass and not drinking enough pure water. This fever could only go away if the sick unicorn stayed on a raft next to the birthstone waterfall. So that's what Moonlight did.
Sapphire was always the one who love to swim and splash, so she's always the one who went over to Moonlight to check on her. A few days went by and nothing has changed, Moonlight, still has the forest fever, Starbeam, always searching for nearby blueberry bushes.
Until the last day of spring. " Ahhhhhhh!" cried Sapphire, " Moonlight's horn is fading!"
And it was true. Her horn was a faded sapphire color.
"What should we do!" Cried Flora.
She was always the one who made all the fresh herbs from the ground. "Pshhhh" Starbeam snorted. "Stay calm, the color will return when our master is well again."
Nobody even listened to him. And he knew why, it wasn't true.
" Flora, give Master Moonlight some chocolate mint, that should bring her color back, I know it will. I've seen it before, it's like a miracle." Commanded SilverStar.
Flora did what she was told and went over to her garden and saw that someone had chomped all her chocolate mints!
"Oh no! My mints!" Flora gasped. It was a unicorn! Flora could tell by the footprints. But who?

Chapter 3
All the herd mates gasped with shock.
Meadow Meeting!" Shouted SilverStar, "everyone come!"
So the unicorns trotted over to Flora's garden.
"What is it?" Asked Chaser, he was one of the only males in the group, but he enjoyed it.
"Some unicorn has stolen all of Flora's herbs and seeds!" SilverStar shouted again.
Who did it? Because unicorns can tell if anyone is lying so they all looked around, staring in each others minds. Nothing.
The herd fell silent.
"Does someone even know another unicorn herd?" asked SilverStar desprately.
" I do!" Sapphire spoke up at last.
"Please come forward Sapphire!" SilverStar commanded.
As Sapphire walked up slowly she was scared to her bone.
"Tell me everything you know about this other herd!" SilverStar shouted, more loud than she meant.
"There's a herd of Coal Black Unicorns living in the mountains, close to the volcano." Sapphire said shyly.
Everyone looked at Sapphire, and gave her that "what are you thinking?" look. Sapphire blushed and ran away.
"Good day." Chaser said. Than galloped the way Sapphire did.
" We must find her! And bring her home to solve this case!" SilverStar decided.
Now everyone gave SilverStar he " How?" look.
" Wait, we won't search for her!" declared SilverStar without thinking, " she will come to us!"
" That is a-" Flora began, but got cut off by SilverStar shouting at her. " Enough!"
"Bad idea" Flora finished. But it was too late, she was already on the other side of the meadow.
Flora felt like crying, so she galloped away as fast as she could, past the meadow and than stopped at the birthstone waterfall.
" I will miss you" Flora whispered to MoonLight. MoonLight nodded in return that meant, you too. So Flora was on her way, following the stream uphill.
" Now we have three unicorns gone! The herd is the worst one in all the world!" cried Dancer, she was SO annoying all the time. "Meeting over!" Shouted SilverStar walking back to the unicorns. "We will just have to wait for the three, we don't have enough time for them!"
All the unicorns went out to get all kinds of berries and delicious treats for MoonLight to feast on. SilverStar just sat there, thinking of the Coal Black Unicorn Herd that Sapphire talked about. Could they have been the ones who stole all of Flora's supplies?
SilverStar looked closely at the marks, coal black hair forming another trail. Yes. It was them, The Coal Black Unicorn Herd of the mountains. It has to be.

Chapter 4
Later that day...
" Sapphire!" Chaser whinnied, " Sapphire! Where are you? I have galloped the whole day! Just tell we where you are!"
Sapphire was busy making her bed of leaves next to a redwood tree. She did not even bother to give a snort, Sapphire was to hungry and tired. A moment later she dropped to the ground.
" Wake up Sapphire!" Shouted Chaser, laying right next to her. There was no response.
" Sapphire! We have to leave! There are tons of flies all over! If we don't leave now, we'll never leave!" Chaser cried.
Just then Sapphire woke up and sat up.
" What is going on?" She asked.
"Flies!" Screamed Chaser galloping away, " Come! We don't have enough time!"
In a blink of an eye Sapphire dove in the water while Chaser hid in a cave. Bubbles floated to the surface with Sapphire. She took a huge jump out of the lake and shook herself dry.
Chaser stepped out of the cave and walked toward Sapphire. " Few!" Said Chaser taking a big breath, " that was a close one!"
" Why are you even here?" asked Sapphire.
Chaser thought for a moment, " Well, u-yeah," than he rubbed his lips together. " Why did I come? I knew that you would need help and all, u-yeah" The real reason why is that Sapphire was his favorite one in the herd.
" Well than, I think Flora would need her more," Said Sapphire wisely. "
Flora?" Chaser asked, " Flora is not away from the forest."
"Oh yes she is, I watched her gallop up stream, when I ran away I took a sharp curve around the cliff because you were following me. Than you just kept going. I got back to the meeting, hiding behind the trees. So I watched Flora, than followed you. When you stopped at the lake to take a rinse I kept on going, it was getting dark so I found a place to sleep. I decided to go follow Flora on the morning and dozed off. That's when you came." Sapphire snorted, but very little.
" Oh, well you are a very clever unicorn." Said Chaser as he jumped into the lake.
"Well, I'm the most clever in my family. Not to brag" Sapphire said looking around the end of the forest. " I have never seen this place before." Sapphire said thoughtfully.
"Me neither" Chaser whispered. The two unicorns were looking at the end of the forest, the grass and leaves under the green trees. Than the red and brown dirt under the huge blue sky. But most of all, Swan Lake.
Oh, how beautiful it was, the swans and the lily pads, the golden fish beneath the watery waves. Tiny ruby pebbles even more deep than the golden fish. Even baby turquoise turtles were as peaceful as the snowy white swans.
" Hey!" Chaser shouted, he was at the other end of the pond. " Look! There's a trail of unicorn foot prints!"
Sapphire bent down and looked at the hoof prints closely and found another trail, it was pearl white hair trail!
" Look what I found!" Shouted Sapphire, " Flora must have been here! Look!"
Chaser looked at the fragile trail of hair. " " Well, every stream leads to a lake!" Sapphire said with joy.
" Not to ruin your joy but, look! The trail leads up to the mountains!" Sobbed Chaser. " Well than lets get some of this water, berries and sweet grass, we're going up the mountains."Declared Sapphire, with a splash with her hoof. Chaser gave a cry of fear, lifting his body off the ground and only his hind legs in the water. After they got all the supplies Sapphire took one more look at swan lake. " When are we going?" Asked Chaser. " We're going. . . . " Sapphire started to say. " Now."

Chapter 5
"Are you sure?" Asked Chaser, " Yes, I'm sure, if we go any later we might not be able to catch up with Flora." Reminded Sapphire. " Oh, well,u-yeah, forgot about Flora, yep, her," sighed Chaser with a big breath. " Come on, I don't want to waste any time. Lets go while we can," Sapphire said. With that she started to walk up the mountain, Chaser followed behind her.
" Are we there yet?" Panted Chaser a few minutes later. " We haven't even got ten feet of the ground yet." Sapphire said in a tired voice, Chaser looked behind him and saw swan lake, getting a tiny bit smaller every second. Sapphire looked at the dead grass she was walking on with the trails of white hair and hoof prints. " Good thing it's hot here," Sapphire said, " than we shed our mane and it forms a trail. I can smell all the plants in Flora's hair." Sapphire Snorted. " Yeah, good thing" said Chaser with another pant.
The heat was there no longer. As they dreaded on it started to rain. Their manes and tails were even more soaked than their bath in the lake. The trail of hair started to wash away, so only the hoof prints were left. Sapphire and Chaser were not panting, but shivering. All you would hear was the rain and thunder, and from the soaked unicorns were their teeth chattering. On they went, limping and dragging themselves to shelter, and what did they find? Nothing.
" Are we lost?" Asked Chaser. " You tell me!" Screamed Sapphire, " I've been looking at the dead grass for hours! My neck is sore and soaked! So if your not bothering to look at the ground, YOU DON'T CARE!" It was true. All Chaser has been doing is following Sapphire right and left. This way and that way, here and there, everywhere.
Chaser's head was hot with anger, even though it feels almost like Everest there. Sapphire's blue eyes where pure snowy white color now, and Chaser's brown eyes were light blue now. It was so cold there, their hooves had frost on them. A few minutes later Chaser DID bother to look at the ground, and he thought to himself, even the grass had frost and white.
Sapphire was now almost completely limping to the ground, if you looked back, all you could see was, not rain now but hail. But no snow. No more swan lake, no more color in Chaser's eyes, no more. anything. The unicorns kept on walking step by step until Sapphire fell to the ground. And breathed deep, uneven breathes. " Sapphire!" Chaser said, you could barely hear him now in this loud whether. " I'm good. Keep on going." Sapphire said with a light voice. With that she stood up and began to walk.
" Hello?" Is anyone there?" Flora shouted. " Help!" Cried Sapphire beginning to fall down again. " Sapphire! Is that you?" Flora screamed wit barely any voice at all. " Flora!" Sapphire shouted back. When Flora got to them she was shocked to see Chaser with her. What are you doing here?!" Flora said with a toss of her mane, " I'm here to help!" Screamed Chaser over the thundering hail. " Come with me!" Shouted Flora, " I have a safe place where you could rest!" " Okay!" Replied Chaser, " I'll carry her! Don't worry about me!" Flora began to lead the way into this cave next to a cliff. " In here! It's warm and safe in here!" Flora protested.
As he carefully laid Sapphire on the dry ground Chaser looked outside of the cave and brought out some frozen berries from his horn that he gathered at swan lake. He gave some berries to his herd mates and himself. While Sapphire was eating her berries she took out some water to melt. ( Unicorns have pouches in their horns that can carry little things. What a useful thing to have!) Chaser began to cough until he could not cough any longer. At least the color in the three unicorn's eyes were coming back.
When Sapphire was done eating her berries she snuggled up with Flora witch was next to the wall of the cave.
When the blizzard was finely over the first one to go out was flora. It was midnight, the stars where out, and best of all, a full moon. " Let's travel a night and rest in the day." Decided Flora, " Than we won't have to stand the heat." It was decided, day was turned into night. Sapphire lead the way, with Chaser right behind her, so Flora was the last one in the line.
Along the way the unicorns have seen many raccoons, owls, and other night creatures that were up. " Are we finally there yet?" Asked Chaser, a little afraid from last time he asked. " Yes we are!" Sapphire cried. " We are here!"
Chaser looked around, it was another cave. Smaller than the last one. The only good thing was chocolate mint all over. " Chocolate mint!" Exclaimed Flora. " Oh! Thank you so much Sapphire! You're the best unicorn ever!" " Yes she is" Chaser whispered to himself, " yes she is."

Chapter 6
"How are we going to carry these things home?" Asked Chaser. " Hello?! Our horns! Right Flora?" Said Sapphire. " Well, these chocolate mints can't be in our horns for to long, they will wilt and dry up to pieces." Explained Flora. " Told ya!" Laughed Chaser. Sapphire just turned away and said, " I know nothing about herbs and other plants. I only learn about water." " That's right, you only care about WATER!" Chaser teased. " I brought you to the chocolate mint, just grab what you and lets go. I bet by now MoonLight is clear and you can't see her, so just hurry up!" Screamed Sapphire " Now just get along now, the thing we really have to worry about is getting back to the forest." Reminded Flora. " Does someone need help!?" Maple proudly shouted. He was a dirty pearl white unicorn with, not a sapphire horn but a emerald horn.
" Who are you?" Asked Chaser. " Are you herd mates of the birthstone forest?" Said Maple, looking at each one of them eye to eye. " Yes, we are." Chaser said, " and we're proud of it." Sapphire spoke up. " I never said it was a bad thing." Maple sighed with happiness. " I'm one of them."
" What!" Shrieked Chaser, " You have a emerald horn! We have a sapphire one! " I know, I was one of them a long time ago. MoonBeam was my master. Do you still have her?" Asked Maple. The three unicorns looked at Maple head to hoof . His horn was crooked and chipped, he couldn't help that part. But he could wash up a little. After a big pause, someone spoke up." No, but we do have MoonLight." Flora protested. " Well, well, another Moon, what a surprise." Maple said wisely. " You're just guessing!" Shouted Sapphire, " every unicorn knows about the birthstone forest herd! I bet you're in the volcano herd and made yourself look like us!" " Well, than I'll just tell some info on it than. The way to the forest is a little blurry, but I know the rest. Of course the birthstone waterfall and uh-well, urh! I forgot! It has a meadow, right?" Maple said thoughtfully. " He's a fake! Maple or Shadow, Coal or any volcano name he has, is just trying to trick us for leading us back to our home! I guess we just have to tie him up on that tree until he knows our herd song!" Shouted Flora. " Oh yeah! The song! I don't remember the song, just not the words to it." Maple said, trying to remember the words. " La la da na na la la!?" Maple sang. " Tie him up to the tree! We should give him a name! Shadow is his name!" Declared Chaser. " But we can't just leave him to rot! Reminded Flora gently, " that's against the forest rules, if you let someone rot, your heart will rot also." " But we're not in the forest!" Chaser screamed, with freedom, " oh, alright, fine." " So I guess we need to stay here until we know the truth about Shadow?" Sapphire asked. " Is there any other way?" Chaser teased again. " Fine." Sapphire sighed. " I'll do honor to tie him up than." Chaser said. In ten minutes Maple was tied to the tree with a just a little extra vine to let him roam. Of cores his horn was covered to he couldn't use it.
" Look, it's almost morning, we need to go to sleep." Sapphire said tiredly with a yawn. " But we're not going anywhere until this unicorn admits it." Chaser said in a whisper voice. " Oh yeah." Yawned Sapphire again, " wake me up when the sunrises tomorrow, I want to have a fresh start." " Don't you want to try to brake free Shadow?" Teased Chaser looking at Maple laying down close to the tree. He could try to nibble the vine off the tree, but he didn't. This was really thick type of a vine that other animals used to make beds out of.
While Sapphire, Flora and Chaser were asleep Maple stayed up all midnight thinking of the song and what the words were. " Are they la la, na na, na na, naaa, da na na, na na naaaaaa, la lala laaaa, lala, lala naaaaaa. Yeah, that is it." Maple whispered to himself, that's the one. I know it is. I know it is. A second later Maple fell asleep, lying next to the tree, and dreaming about his herd, playing in the meadow again.
The next morning all the unicorns ate fresh chocolate mint, boy it was minty! Yesterday was good whether, the day before that was a blizzard and now it's hot. Worst of all, the valcano was getting hotter to! The lava was rising, in a few weeks the whole mountain will be flooded in lava! Burning and melting in the heat. The coal unicorns would take over. And burn the forest.
That noon Sapphire was splashing in a swampy lake with bugs and toads, but beggars can't be choosers. Chaser was picking sour berries to eat for dinner. Flora was taking care of the chocolate mints of course. Maple, well Malpe was walking in circles thinging of the words for the song, and he came up with, nothing. Maple thought to himself, what ither way could I prove that I'm a herd mate of the forest? If only there was another way. . . . . . . .

Chapter 7
Back at home Moonlight was getting even worse, her body was fading into the sky every once in awhile. She had tuned almost a clear color, more clear then white. Pearl , she's able to float a few feet off the ground, so she takes Sapphire's place Of course Pearl was not as good as Sapphire, but she does the job well, but still.Moonlight tried to talk, it was something important, something secret, it's the Secret Glade of the forest. But she had lost her voice. Moonlight would only tell who she really trusts, but they were gone, that was another bad thing going on.
Yes there is, well, was, a Secret Glade, Moonlight was the founder of it. But it was lost in a terrible storm, that storm lasted 24 hours, all night and day. Maybe Maple could tell us something about this, either herd, he could tell about this storm. Why the storm was there, or what it was like and looked like, since he was old, but wise and full of energy
" SilverStar I-" Pearl started to say, " not NOW!" SilverStar responded. Pearl gulped snorted, than ran away to pick berries for Master Moonlight. " What you do'in?" Dancer asked, prancing in a fearful but fearless way. " Not'n much." Dancer replied. " Dancer! You don't reply to your own question!" Reminded Pearl, Dancer shrugged and pranced away.
Pearl sighed, without Sapphire and Flora everything was going wrong, she also thought that they would never come back, it has been a month since they ran away, what could she do to help? She tried everything Pearl's unicorn mind could think of, Sapphire's and Flora's minds were wild, in a good way, they could always come up with a answer. Stop think of them! Pearl whispered to herself, it wasn't that she was jealous or anything, just. . . yep. Jealous. She was thinking that way of everything, they got to on on adventure, go out of the forest the discover a whole new world out there, Pearl was bored of looking up at the tree's leaves, she have never ever seen the great big blue sky to be honest with herself. Never.

Meanwhile, Maple was just about to give up on the herd's secret song, he was coated with dirt and sweat, that nice swampy
lake, he also needed to warn the others about the Lava flood from the Coal black Unicorns. " Guys! Hello?" Maple barked out in a soft voice, " There's going to be a volcano eruption! We need to stop them! " " Lire!" Chaser shouted back, Maple thought quickly and furiously about a different way to show them, " Flora!" Maple said really fast. " What Shadow?" Asked Flora rudely, " I can prove that I am one of you," Maple declared. " How?" Flora asked him again, Maple's idea was brilliant, he got to cool off and prove it! He paused, took a deep breath, and started, " That lake over there looks really refreshing," Maple said, dreaming of a fresh cool dip. " And. . . . . . . ." Flora said frustrated of Maple, " that looks like a type of plant that would. . . what's the name for that plant over there?" Maple asked pointing his horn to a kind of plant weed looking, but was not. " You mean the Dew?" Flora said, looking puzzled, " yeah! That one! The Dew! That plant scrubs anything that's on you to reveal your true self, right?" Maple exclaimed, " yep, sure does, you need to go in the lake and eat the yucky plant," Flora sighed. " So all I have to do is go take a di- I mean all I have to do is you in the lake and eat the plant! That's all I have to do!" Maple screamed with joy, and completely forgot about the volcano eruption . " But you can't have any vines around you if you eat the plant, it will tear you to a thousand pieces." Flora reminded Maple, " I'll have to go talk to Sapphire and Chaser about that then." " Then go!" Maple said, and a little rushed. " Okay okay, I'll go there right now than." Flora moaned, and off she went to the other side of the lake, which took 15 minutes.
After a hour she returned with Sapphire and Chaser to her left and right, " get the rope," Sapphire commanded, " sure thing" Chaser moaned with a little fear, the two female unicorns watched Chaser carefully un-rapped the sturdy vine around the tree with his mouth, Maple was anxiously watching also, waiting for the moment to pounce forward and plunge into the lake with freedom, but wait, I will be calm as I can, for I do not want to be called a Coal Black Unicorn, Maple thought, then he frowned. Chaser was still holding the hope, " what are you doing?" Asked Maple, " I read your mind, I will still do this silly plant trick for you, I will let go and untie the rope when we get to the lake. The moment to do that, you will follow my directions and quickly dive in the water, Flora has already picked the Dew for you. Sapphire will follow right after you." Responded Chaser, darn! He read my minds! Thought Maple, remembering that unicorns can read minds, this will be bad for when we go right the Coal Black Unicorns of the Mountain. Chaser gave Maple a stare that meant " HELLO!? I CAN READ YOUR MIND! SO STOP! OR YOU JUST WANT ME TO THINK YOUR ONE OF US!" Maple knew that that's what he really meant because he could read his mind. He thought that this was really cool to do because he didn't really have been around anyone to read his/her mind.
" Ready?" Asked Flora, " yep," answered Maple, so Chaser lead him to the lake, Maple was full of excitement. " NOW!" Screamed Chaser as he untied the rope around Maple's dirty white neck. Maple dove in, Sapphire dove in after him, then they both came up at the same time and Sapphire shoved the Dew in Maple's mouth with her mouth. Chaser was now jealous of Maple, wishing that he was there instead of him, as Chaser walked up to see better he tripped and fell in, he made a big splash a gasped for air. Sapphire swam over to Chaser, she went under the foggy water, when she came back up he was right next to her. Chaser was now not jealous anymore, for Sapphire plunging in after him, that's all he could think of. He climbed out of the water and went to go lay down in the sun, not to far from the others. " Eat the Dew!" Shouted Sapphire, looking at Maple, he was frozen, staring into nowhere. As he began to start eating the Dew Maple felt a glow, he floated up to the sky, it felt like he was dreaming, a minute after Maple was back in the lake. Wow! I never knew that this weed looking plant could be so magical! Maple thought, he looked down in the water and saw himself, nothing has changed, excepted he was not dirty and his horn was shiny with now stains and a perfect, straight,spiral horn. " I'm myself again!" Maple cheered, "I'm myself again!"

Chapter 8
Two days later. . . . . . " Happy Labor Day!" Sapphire shouted, "Happy Labor Day!" Responded everyone else. " Look! Your jewel on your horn is turning a sapphire color Maple!" Flora cried happily, " That's because I ate that Dew," sighed Maple, " no more emerald ever again." " Well at least you look younger, now you can be a herd member," Chaser pointed out, " I guess." Shrugged Maple.
It was a bright sunny morning, flowers blooming and blossoming, green trees swooshing in the little breeze. The blackberries waiting to be picked, and not a single spot was a pink not ripe color. Another thing about today is. . . not Labor Day but. . . . . Sapphire's Birthday also, yes, she was turning ten, in unicorn years. ( 2 years is a year in Unicorn years.) Flora whispered to Maple that it was her birthday, then everyone screamed except for Sapphire, " HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" " Aw! Thanks you guys and girls!" Sapphire thanked. Then everyone nodded in return. Sapphire was the second oldest, of course Maple was the oldest, Sapphire, Flora and Chaser. " I'm going to go pick berries," Said Sapphire, I'll come too," responded Flora. So that left Maple and Chaser, "don't you DARE try to hurt Sapphire," Chaser whispered to him. "Chaser, just chill, don't worry, I will, not." Maple whispered back with a giggle. Chaser took this serious, snorted, then charged at Maple. " Hey! I don't wanna fight!" Maple gasped, but Chaser just went on running toward Maple, "I'm not going to fight, but I WILL teach you a lesson or two, got that?" Chaser barked, " yes, I got that, what are you going to do to me?" Maple said softy, it felt like someone had poured dried ice down his back. Chaser was furious, but he thought about how Maple was treated, then he took pity of him, in a strange way. "Look, I'll let you go this time, but next time is is on!" Chaser replied, "thanks bud, I promise to not do it again," Maple sighed, "what did I do again?" Maple said thoughtfully, " whatever, just go, Maple!" Chaser shouted Chaser, "I'm going to pick berries, see you around," Maple said lightly, then walked into the trees.
Chaser snorted, and sat down to take a big fresh breathe, and dreamed. . . . . . . In his dream, he dreamed that Maple was really was a Coal Black Unicorn, and he was just a baby unicorn, helpless and weak,with not a even a little horn to put a little spell on him, for he was just born and no horn, and his mother was not there to protect him, his mother. . . . Suddenly he woke up with a flash and pain. Who is my mother? He thought, why did she have to betray me? " Your mother is sick." Maple responded to his thoughts, " back so soon?" Asked Chaser, " I was gone a hour," Maple replied, " berry?" "No thanks," Chaser moaned, " don't change the subject, who is my mother?" Maple tried his hardest to not answer him, and walked away.

Back at the forest Moonlight spotted a strange pebble at the bottom of the lake, wait, there was two, one looked like a moon, the other looked like a sun, what could this mean? Thought Moonlight, she was feeling better, but her color did not look better, it got worse, she now was the color of crystal clear water, with a little light pearl outline, so she was not invisible, yet.
As she watched the swans and the ducks float in the water she pictured herself, herself again, prancing thought the meadows and taking baths and showers in the birthstone water, but nothing was the same. "How are you feeling?" Asked Pearl, as she floated a little off the ground, Moonlight nodded in return, and Pearl knew that Moonlight meant "Good, just a little tired."
Pearl left, then Moonlight looked at the two pebbles again, what does this mean? Thought Moonlight, there has to be a reason for this.

Chapter 9
Suddenly, a memory flashed back to Moonlight, it shot at her to quickly she did not know what was going on, and it was so hard against her head it fell in a million pieces, all scattered among her brain, tons of little memories scattered about the sun and moon pebbles and the Secret Glade, Sapphire, Flora, and Chaser, and this other unicorn with a sapphire horn, this was too much for poor Moonlight. None of these pieces fit together, and then she felt one last crumb fall, it was the chocolate mint. Oh, how she craved for one of those herbs, Moonlight was hungry, with only some same old sweet grass, nothing ever be the same, not even if Sapphire, Flora, and Chaser returned with the Chocolate mint and Moonlight became herself again and found the Secret Glade. For she knew about the volcano eruption.
Moonlight sighed and took a deep breath, she looked at the mountains and thought how come the Cola Black Unicorns had to build their territory in the mountains? Couldn't they have built it in the desert or something? Why here in the mountains, next to our forest? She thought again oh, I see, ever since I refused to give the forest to them they wanted revenge, if I could reach, find the Secret Glade and reach and wise dragons.
It was a winding night, the swans and ducks in the lake were gone, perhaps their family was safe and healthy, Moonlight looked around, one swan has flown back to the lake and fell asleep, the swan knew Moonlight was lonely, so she came back to sleep there. Pearl wasn't that far away, like, only behind the waterfall, but no one knew she was there, and Pearl was glad about that. But that was a big mistake.

At the volcano the Coal Black Unicorns were bathing in the steaming hot lava, which was at the top of the huge volcano. Steam, the leader, was enjoying himself the most, he was lounging on a metal floaty that felt like 1,000 degrees, the rest of the unicorns was in the lava, the reason why Steam was not in the lava pool because his coat was just combed with a coal comb, so he did NOT want it it get all messy again. " This is the life," Steam sighed with pleasure, "ahhhhhhhh." Everything in this herd was totally different from the forest herd, First of all, the leader was a male, second of all, there are mostly males, the forest herd has mostly females. Third of all, the volcano herd like being hot of course, and the other herd likes being cool. Forth, the Coal Unicorn's have a ruby horn with a ruby red jewel, the other unicorns have sapphire horns with blue sapphire jewel, and many, many, MANY, more reasons.

" That was great!" Sapphire beamed, " yeah! The sweetest berries ever!" Flora agreed, looking dreamy and a unicorn grin on her face as walking back where Chaser and Maple was, but they did not know about the conversation. As the two happy unicorns saw Chaser resting in the shade sobbing they became sad too, but did not say anything.This made Chaser uncomfortable to make Sapphire and Flora unhappy because he heard them talking on the way back, but since he felt grumpy about the whole mother thing he did not say anything. Why worry about them when I have more troubles than them? They don't really care at all, in fact, those unicorns don't even know what made me unhappy. Chaser thought, without thinking that much, he only cared about himself, he was getting really annoyed when Flora came over to him. " Are ya okay?" Flora asked, looking worried, " None of your- whatever, stop sticking your horn in my troubles, got that you weird horse?" Chaser barked at Flora, not knowing Sapphire was just behind him. Flora began to cry, but not like some foolish child, a wise soft spoken cry, like a graceful waterfall in the forest, where her home was, with the trees blocking the blue sky, and the grassy and leafy forest floor. Then that made Flora think of home.

Chapter 10
Now this made Chaser regret what he said, lately he has been so rude, he regretted that too. Maybe I should keep away from everyone, stay out of trouble, Chaser thought, so he walked away, he was heading toward the berries in the forest, he was also very hungry. When he got to the berry bushed Chaser saw Maple, Maple was taking mud bath, Chaser could see him between some bushes, I bet he does this here so no one will find out his mud bath secret, Chaser giggled, this was one of the most funniest things since awhile, everyone knows that unicorns hate rolling in mud. Just about when he was about to rush back to tell the others about his find, he stopped. Chaser decided not too, it would make his life even worse, for now on, he decided to not share anything with anyone, ever again. That was a big mistake also. And why? You'll just have to find out.

Back at the forest Pearl woke up from her nap, as she watched the birthstone colors change in the waterfall a creepy shadow began to grow slightly bigger on the waterfall, which made Pearl mad. Not because of the shadow, but it blocked the beautiful colors of the waterfall, as you can see Pearl was hardly thinking of the shadow. "Stop that you big creepy shadow!" Pearl shouted in a whisper voice. "AHHHH! What's that shadow!" Pearl hated being in water, and there was no where to float off, she was trapped! Helplessly, Pearl watched thick vines wrapping around her, tying her up, as she tried to wiggle out, the more she wiggled the tighter it got. "These are vines that your friends used to tie up a unicorn." A sly voice told her, "now you are mine." "My friends?" Pearl squeaked, shaking with fear. "Who ELSE would it be?" Barked out the shadow's voice. Pearl didn't dare to look at the scary thing, well, she couldn't move her head anyways. So she looked at the huge shadow in front of her, it was a two horned beast with muscle larger than woodpeckers, parts of his head was curly, the other parts were smooth skin. But the thing that really caught Pearl's eyes were big floppy ears and a tangled up beard, and the tips of those long horns, sharper than needles.
Pearl was breathing hard, he forehead was wet with sweat, "I'll be back soon." Promised the beast, but before he left, he tied up the sweaty unicorn's mouth, then pounced away. Pearl felt a little relieved, knowing that she had tine to escape, but her mouth was tied and she couldn't even give a glow with her horn, a bad smelling flower was covering it, and the yucky pollen was getting in her horn, this make Pearl's sapphire horn throb, and her head pound even more. At least Moonlight is just right on the other side of the waterfall, but that did not work, Pearl knew no one ever looked behind the waterfall, never. The beast's words rang in her head, I'll be back, I'll be back, I'll be back, Pearl was trying to shake all of the sweat and words off her head, no use, she could not move.

Chapter 11
At the volcano everyone except Steam was in the lava pool, of course in the metal floaty."Do you think that fool of a bull is doing his job?" Asked Ruby, one of the only females in the herd. "Who knows," answered Steam, "lets hope so." "Yeah," agreed Ruby, nodding her coal black head. She looked around and trotted off. As Steam watched the blazing hot bubbles come up, then down in the pool he carefully checked if no one was looking, then dove in to the lava. He swan down,down, and down, into the red, hot lava, until after 30 minutes, he was at the bottom.
The were all of his treasures scattered on the bottom, rubies and lava put in bottles and a gold chain around them. Steam dug thought all of his treasures, until he came to the bottom and found a huge ruby, it was as big as a fortune telling ball, and that's what is was, kind of. He could name any place in the whole world, and he could see it in the ruby, Steam put it in his horn and swan back to the surface. This was hard, because he needed to make sure no one was looking, the bottom with all of his treasures was a secret.
As his head popped up from the lava, his mane was sticking to his neck, sweating, but he enjoyed it. No one was around, it was safe to look at the ruby, the horn's magical power's carefully placed the ruby on the metal floaty. "I call on the bull of all beasts!" Commanded Steam, the ruby showed a huge bull with two horns, sharper than needles, some of his head was curly with brown, some parts were just brown skin. The bull was walking out of the forest where a herd of unicorns were, once Steam saw the look on his face he knew that the bull has done it's job.

Chaser was still watching Maple take a mud bath, his horn gave out little giggles, that sounded weird. Maple, on the other hand was enjoying himself, he was brown with little roots, mud, and other things that had fallen into the mud like leaves. As Chaser watched Maple climb out of the mud and got a HUGE leaf to dry himself off Chaser decided to go back to his resting spot, for he knew Maple would see him. He trotted back to the cave and sat down under the tree, Flora was picking some chocolate mint for Moonlight, they were leaving the next day, and Sapphire was heading toward the berries, the berries! Chaser thought, she'll see Maple! Then she would figure out that I have not told anybody about that! "About what?" Sapphire asked, "you read my mind!" Chaser exclaimed, "yeah, so what?" Said Sapphire, "never mind." "Phew," Chaser sighed. A few minutes later Sapphire ran out of the berry forest, "ahhhhhhh!" She shouted, "What?" Flora asked, "M-M-M- Maple!" Sapphire screamed, Maple came out of the forest, leaves stuck to him because he did not take off the mud, he also did not want them to see it, so he stuck leaves on. Chaser decided to stay out of this, for once. "What in the world are you doing this?" Flora sighed, "I can explain!" Maple said, "no unicorn in the world has out leaves on her or his body!" Flora pointed out. Chaser just sat there and smiled, he was SO happy that he wasn't in the fight, now he decided that he won't ever try to get attention, he'll just be there, no fighting, or anything.

Chapter 12
Pearl was so anxious to get out of those thick vines that she forgot all about the beats words. As she scrambled for a breath of fresh air, her sensitive nose caught a whiff of, of, something sweaty and stinky. Through her sensitive ears, and hooves, she felt a heavy thumping sound on the earth, every time she felt the thump, her heart skipped a beat. Her eyes, twitching from side to side, north, east, south, west, east, north west south. She almost fainted.
"Come to papa," a voice snarled, "come to the bull of all beats." "B-b-b-b-bull of all b-b-b-b-beats?" Pearl repeated, then it seemed like a light bulb popped into her head.
It was a idea, but should I say a stupid one. And what was it? Leave that to Pearl.
Thump, thump, thump. Her eyes flickered, thump,thump, thump. Her nose switched, thump, thump ,thum- the hoof steps ended. "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" A sharp but scratchy voice came. Then from out of plain sight, a beast pounced toward Pearl. "W-w-w-w-who's there?" Pearl's shaky voice managed to say. "Look at me straight in the eye." The voice answered. Pearl did. Right in the eye socket she could see eyes of fiery red, more evil than a Coal Black Unicorn. "I'm the one who captured you. " The beast answered, "I'm the bull of all BEASTS!" The bull carried Pearl, by his horn, out the waterfall. The beats went over to a glade where it was fogy so no one could see them. He but her in a huge bag sack, somehow, and put her in a cart. And then he pulled the cart out of the forest.

"Are you ready?" Sapphire asked the next day. "Ready!" Everyone answered. For it was the day they were heading back home. "Wait!" Called out Flora, picking the rest of the fresh chocolate mint. She stuffed her green back she had weaved this morning. It was a special bag for keeping plants alive on long hikes, walks, for journeys. "Ready!" She declared, and everybody started heading down the mountains. Sapphire in the lead, then everyone else weaving in and out behind her. It wasn't that long til they would get hot. Sapphire, since she lived here before she joined the herd, explained how weather can easily change so quickly. She had spied on the Coal Black Unicorns before, but Sapphire was caught the last time before she was old enough to find a herd of unicorns with the same color of horn.

Meanwhile, Moonlight sat on her raft in the pond. She had forgotten about the strange pebbles in thee water. Her coat was turning a pale pearl color again, and her horn was half way in the water. Starbeam was taking care of Moonlight for now because Pearl had strangely vanished. She splashed stiffly in the cool water.

Chapter 13
Starbeam looked at Moonlight, all was well again turned as purple as a plump plum. Moonlight didn't dare to look up at Starbeam, that fool was nothing more than a tiny star in the shining in the huge night sky. But still, she let her take care on her.

Pearl looked around her, nothing except a woven sack around her, and with a little hole so she could breathe. Worst of all, her shiny sapphire horn was useless.
Outside of the bag, the Beast was pulling the cart somewhere, somewhere hot with tons of steam, and uphill. Each time Pearl moved, the rope around her neck got tighter, and less air came in her. She was dusty and her beautiful mane was dangled in dirt. Pearl's tail was rather brown with rust on it from when the beast dragged her into the cart. "Hey you!" Pearl called, "you better let me out! Or, or, I'll get out myself!" But she knew that is wasn't true.

"Are we there yet?" Flora asked. "Are the mints still fresh Flora?" Sapphire asked, not answering Flora's real question. Flora blinked quickly for a second and checked her herbal woven bag. They were doing well, while they walked, she opened up the bag to give them some fresh air and sprinkling some cooling water on them from her horn. Since the chocolate mints were planted in rich soil still, she still had to give them sunlight and water.
Chaser looked into the bag, "looks as beautiful as. . . ." Chaser sighed, but his sentence went off track. Just ahead, Sapphire spotted a bull pulling up a rusty cart with a dirty woven bad in the cart. Sapphire didn't see Pearl, and Pearl didn't see Sapphire. "I bet Sapphire and Chaser is watching you right now!" Pearl shouted out, and Flora heard them.

Flora whispered it into Sapphire's ear, and Sapphire turned to the cart, but was hidden in he bushes. "Chaser," Sapphire hissed, "come with me!" The two unicorns headed behind the cart quietly and started to to tear the bag apart, but it was no use. The beast saw them at the corner of his dull eye, kicked the cart out of his grip and let it be free. The bull charged out toward them, Sapphire sprang into action and hit her horn against the bull's horn. He bolted backwards, he did not get hurt or anything, but that gave Sapphire and Chaser time to run away and into and bushes, where they where safe and hidden.

Up in the mountains where the Coal Black Unicorns are, Autumn the baby foal was trotting in the cave, deep in the Fire Forest. He sighed, being rejected was the worst feeling that a unicorn could ever have, and he was one of them.
"Autumn!" Ruby called, "AUTUMN!" The baby foal looked up, no one has ever called his name before. Autumn poked his head out of the hollow cave, he could see Ruby in galloping to him. "Autumn?" Ruby asked as she approached the cave, "what in the world are you doing here?" She snapped at the lonely foal. "I-I-I was just exploring the Fire Forest." Autumn lied nervously. Ruby sighed, "come with me," she groaned. The annoyed black unicorn picked up Autumn from the flesh on the foal's back skin to her mouth and carried him back to the volcano.
When they returned, Ruby dropped Autumn into the volcano's surface. "Oof," Autumn choked when the hot lava met his knobby legs. "Well well," Steam hissed at the poor foal when he got to the edge on the volcano. "I'm not surprised," Steam sighed sorrowfully, "okay, Ruby, get the steel cage and lock him up, we don't need any more trouble." Steam commanded. Ruby nodded and watched Steam walk away. As soon as she couldn't see Steam in the distance, she looked back at Autumn and sighed. "Okay, okay," Ruby sighed again, "run away, off, I don't wanna cage anyone today." Autumn nodded, Ruby lifted Autumn out of the volcano and watch him trot off into the Fire Forest again, she knew that it was the right thing to do.

Chapter 14
Once Autumn was hidden in the Fire Forest, he galloped to his cave, hoping to find something to do, there was nothing, Autumn sighed, he thought about being rejected, and how this all started, it gave him nightmares. So he decided to explore the Fire Forest, like he told Ruby he was doing. Autumn stamped his hoof, what was there to do in a forest full of trees with red leaves? Then he got it, he would make a secret hideout somewhere in this forest! Autumn broke off into a gallop, searching for a bunch of trees all huddling together, but all the trees where spaced out where he was!
Autumn galloped farther, and there is was! Seven trees on each side, and a completely empty inside! "Bingo!" Autumn called out happily as he entered the inside. But it wasn't that soon til Autumn heard it. "AUTUMN!" Ruby called again. The foal sighed, why did everything have to all go wrong? But, he didn't want to tell Ruby what he was up to, so he slipped out of his new hideout from the back and walked toward Ruby from trees to the right of the secret place. "Yes?" Autumn asked, trying to sound like nothings going on.
When they were back at the volcano, (traveled like the other time,) Steam was already there. Once again, Ruby dropped Autumn in the volcano and, instead, Autumn didn't splash in the lava, he hit the hard flooring of the steel cage. "Sorry," Ruby whispered to Autumn, and he heard. "Go now, Ruby," commanded Steam strictly, and Ruby raced off, into the Fire Forest. As Steam turned back from looking at Ruby race off, he saw nothing more then an empty steel cage, floating in the lava of the volcano. "How DARE YOU!" Steam's voiced thundered in the clear blue sky, "How DARE YOU!"
Autumn opened his eyes to see that he was actually in the lava, Autumn was in the volcano.
He looked around, scared that Steam would still be there, staring at the empty steel cage, Autumn swam deeper into the giant pool of flowing ruby color lava. His stubby legs kicked powerfully through the thick lava. Only Steam's legs were meant for this kind of swimming, but of course, Autumn had no clue the Steam had ever been down here.
Down he swan, but soon his short legs got tired. Lava specks stuck on his sleek body, and made his legs burn with fiery. Autumn opened his mouth to take a breath after all that time. And to his surprise, he could breathe in the lava.
