{Chapter 1}
The school bell rang and everyone gave a cheer! Tonight was Halloween night and that
meant lots of candy. Candy was on my mind 24 hours today! I can't wait for the sun to set and we can head out trick or treating. *slurp* While not paying attention to where I was walking, I bumped into sally who was talking to some girls. "Sorry there, Sal, so whats going on" I said smiling. "Well the girls and I were talking about trick or treat, were very excited, but were heard Misses Grumble left. She gave out yummy candy apples" Sally said rubbing her tummy. "Aw.. really. For the years she has been in the neighborhood, I never gotten one of her apples yet" I said. "I've only got one, and I enjoyed it very much. I also heard an old owl moved in her house two weeks ago. And hates lil'kinz on his property. Since he doesn't like us, he bought a dog! That dog will tear pants if he sees you"Sally said. I felt a little bit scared and replied with a smile" But if he hates us, he won't give out candy and that means we don't have to meet his dog or him" Sally looked at me with a grin. "Well um... we also were talking about going there as a dare. want to come" Sally said. "Oh. Um... well I'm going to a different neighborhood for trick or treat, so I'll have to decline" I said with a big lump in my throat. Sally gave me a nudge with a look of come with us. I shook my head with a yes! Thinking to myself what have I done. I'm not to excited for night fall anymore *sigh*

{Chapter 2}
It was 6 o'clock and I just finished dinner. "Pam, Sally and her friends will be here soon better get your costume one!" Mother yelled up the stairs. I was being a pumpkin for Halloween. Mom said to hurry, but I took my time. I really didn't want to go with Sally and the rest for they were going to the old owl for a dare. Sally and her friends came at 6:30 and we headed off to the old owl's house first. I dreaded all day about going there. Ugh... I wish I was sick to not go. His house was frightful in the dark, he had a squeaky, old fence. Everyone slowly walked up his cricking porch. We pushed the doorbell and a hallow gung was sprung. We all huddled together, shaking away. You could hear him walk heavily. Through is big window door we could see his dark figure coming to the door. We began to panic. Jen, Marcia ran behind some bushes. I stood there frozen! The door nob twisted and he stepped outside holding a....


{Chapter 3}
In his big feathery hands he was holding a pan of candy apples. Everyone started laughing so did I. The old owl just gave us an odd look, but with a friendly smile. "Huh, you make candy apples, also?" I asked. He nodded is head then said" Well Mrs. Grumble was a good friend of mine and now since she moved to the other side of WW I wasn't able to see her anymore or get a bite of her yummy candy apples. I asked for her recipe! And she said to me before she said good-bye that on Halloween the lil'kinz love coming to her for a candy apple. So you like one girls" We all laughed then grabbed an apple. Mmm... those were so good. I wanted another, but kinda felt awkward to ask for another so I didn't. "BTW, what is your name?" Sally asked. "Oh well my name is ******" He replied smiling. "Well my name is Sally this is Pam, Marcia, Jen, and Haley" Sally said pointing to all of us. "Is the rumor true you hate lil'kinz and that your dog tears pants?"I asked. Sally nudged me again and gave me a look like Pam don't ask. "Well my dog would never tear pants nor would I hate lil'kinz" ****** said. "Phew, then where is your dog if you even have one?" I asked. "Truly, come here girl" ****** yelled. A little beagle puppy came running in. We all said aw. She was adorable and friendly. We spent have of our trick or treat night there. We enjoyed him very much and loved his apples. So we girls made a oath not to tell anyone how nice he is and that he gives out apples
