Samantha's Diary - More Entries Added 8/7/09 - (Not Real)

This story was my dear friend Samantha's diary who had Lymphocytic leukemia, and ended up passing away.

Dear Diary,
May 28th, 2005
Today I had to go to the hospital and to get some treatments for my disease. It wasn't fun, because I had to get shots that hurt and my dad wasn't there to support me. My dad had to go to Boston for a very important meeting and didn't know that I'd have to go in for a check-up. But, my best friend in the whole world Ashley was there to support me. It really hasn't been going away and I am starting to get worried about myself, and so has my mom. I've heard her talking to the Doctors.

May 30th, 2005
Ashley's mom, Stella, got into a car accident and ended up passing away. I never really knew her that that well because she was always working. I still am so so sad, and I know Ashley really really sad.
I am now praying for her every night.

June 2nd
Today was Stella's funeral, and I was very very sad. Ashley only has her dad, she was an only child. I sat by her and comforted her, and she saw the pictures of her and her mom and made her smile, and cry at the same time. I felt really bad for her, and her dad.

It's been a few days since I wrote, I've been so tired of having to face the facts of life everyday. I hope my condition goes away! I beg of you God! Please help me! My friend Ashley went to California for spring break, and I was very lonely.

June 7th, 2005
Guess what! My friend Ashley in CA sent me a package and a postcard, she said, feel well on the postcard, and when I opened the package, I saw a key chain that was blinking and said "Samantha", a dolphin stuffed animal, and a T-shirt that turns different colors in the sun that had a dolphin on it. Ashley knows that dolphins are my favorite animal, so that's probably why she got me that shirt and stuffed animal! I can't wait until she comes back!

June 19th, 2005
Ashley is still in California. She went for 3 weeks to be with her aunt, Lucy. Ant Lucy has Leukemia also. So, me and her keep in touch, and check in on each other once in a while. She was getting cat scan and, they found out that it was spreading. So, Ashley, and her dad went down there.

June 20th, 2005
Ashley is coming home tomorrow, and I am so excited! I have been bored without her. When she gets home, I am going to give her a huge hug, and say thank you for the present.

June 21st, 2005
Ashley came home today and she was really tan. She told me about the night she went to dinner at a place called "The Blue Crab Bisque", and how her aunt couldn't pronounce bisque (an italian word for restaurant). Also, she told me that one day that she was there, she got to swim with dolphins, I was happy for her, but jealous, at the same time.

June 27th, 2005
Today I went to the grocery store with my mom, and there was another girl with her mom there. We saw them by the Deli counter, getting Swiss Cheese, and Roast Beef. The girl turned around, and I swore I knew her from somewhere. Then I thought, and thought. When my mom, and her mom's eyes met, they knew who it was. It was my best friend from pre-school though kindergarden! But, she moved away before the last 2 months of kindergarden. Her name was Shelby, and I didn't know it was her, until my mom told me it was really her. They had just moved into the neighborhood, Shelby , her mom, and her younger brother Joey.

June 30th, 2005
Me and Shelby are getting along great! We went to the park that is nearby today, and she taught me how to do the monkey bars. She is a gymnast, and is really strong. Well, the park is right next to the community center. So, Ashley, and her dad went into the place right by the park and she saw me and Shelby there. She didn't know who Shelby was, and thought that she "took her place", and is my best friend now, and got mad. She then walked back by her dad. Ashley is a person who is my best friend one day, and then runs off and I doing something the next day, so I don't really see her that often anymore, but we are still best friends.

July 2nd, 2005
Today I had to go in for another cat-scan, My mom surprised me, and when I got done, Ashley was there to see me! I was glad she was there. I explained to her who Shelby was and she didn't really mind that I had a new friend. We were talking, and waiting for my doctor named Dr. Miguel. Finally he came back and he said, that I have to come in tomorrow so they can talk to us about the information on my last cat-scans. I'm worried, what if this time, it turns out bad? What if I only have a few more days to live?I am the type of person who is worried, and paranoid.

July 3rd, 2005
When I went to talk to my doctor about the cat-scan, he told me that he had some bad news. My heart was pounding very hard. They told me that the leukemia has come back.
I started to cry, and so did my mom. We thought it was cured, but I guess it hasn't.

July 7th, 2005
Me and my parents went to the hospital again today. Dr. Miguel said that there is an easy way to cure this. I was relieved, but, still worried.
