My Summer At Camp Clear Lake
"Go fish!" My sister shouts at me.
"Quit down, Megan" I whisper back.
I think to myself, what a pest. Two whole weeks without an annoying little sister. Two whole weeks at Camp Clear Lake!
"Quit down yourself, Annabeth" She mumbles back, a she sticks her tongue out a me. I roll down my window, and change into a different position. My legs need a stretch, and they're sticking to the coffee colored leather of our jeep. "Are we there yet?" I ask my parents. "Almost honey" My dad replies, as he leans back to ruffle my wavy, short brown hair. YAWN. I think I’ll rest my eyes for a moment. "Wake up sweetie" My mom says. We’re finally there!!! But, it's raining. The typical summer weather in Colorado. I look at my surroundings. There is a building with "LODGE" on the side and it looks homey, a whitewash on the bricks, and a white wooden porch. Over to my left there is a HUGE crystal clear lake, hence the name of the camp. My sister is asleep thank goodness. "Come on, let's go check in!" My Dad says.
I sleepily stumble out of the car, and clutch my backpack. I trail my dad, who is caring all my stuff, to the lodge. Inside there is a HUGE line. I space out for a minute. What if nobody in my cabin likes me? What if a have to meet BOYS? We finally reach the table. The lady asks "Name?" she says in a surprisingly deep voice. "Annabeth Clearwater" I squeak back. "Age?" She asks in the deep voice again. "I'm 13" I squeak back yet again. "You’re in Ruby, that's a cabin" She tells me, matter-of-factly. Time to face the cabinmates.
