Chapter 1
It was a great night for Oreo. He was in the pet shop with his friends, Cookie the guinea pig & Mickie the mouse. The pet shop bully, Buster the dog, was just sold. Everyone was partying. Then, a mom with her nine year old son came in.
"Here, we have a big assortment of pet mice for your son." Said the manager.
"I want that one," the boy said pointing to Mickie.
"No, no, no, no." Whispered Mickie to herself.
"Ah.... that's Mickie. So you want her?" asked the manager. The boy nodded. The manager opened the cage, and grabbed Mickie.
"No!! Mickie!" shouted Oreo. He was devastated. Then, an employee came over to Oreo & Cookie's cage.
"You guinea pigs are getting to big for this little cage," she said. "We'll have to move one of you two." So, she picked up Cookie, & took her all the way to the other side of the store.
"Cookie! Don't leave me here!" shouted Oreo. The best night ever, turned out to be the worst night ever. He had just lost his two closest friend! Then, a twelve year girl came in.
"I want a guinea pig," she shouted. She walked over to Oreo's cage. "I want that one!" said the girl, pointing to Oreo. The next thing he knew, he was picked up, and taken into a little box. It was cold & dark with out being in his cozy little home. Oreo heard the mom call her Charlotte.
"Hmm... Charlotte. Nice name," Oreo thought. He heard a door open. He was put down in the seat nest to Charlotte, and then heard a door slam. The car started, and the lid to the box was lifted.
"He's so cute, mom!" she shouted. "You're going to love Ginger! She's my other guinea pig." With another guinea pig, Oreo wouldn't feel as lonely, so it wouldn't be all that bad. The road home was very bumpy. But when they finally got home, Charlotte picked him up and took him to the cage in the basement. The house seemed completely different compared to the pet store. It was different in a better way! Oreo loved it! They finally got to the cage. Charlotte opened the cage door, and put Oreo inside. All Charlotte could here was squeaking, but he was actually talking.
"Hello. Is any body here?" he started. "I'm the new guinea pig here. I want to meet you." There was a few moments off silence. But, Oreo saw a shadow moving in Ginger's little house. There was only one question he thought at the moment: "Will she like me?"
