For a while my friends and family have told me I should write a children's book. (Not like the 5 page kind, more like warrior cats.) The book will be about two packs of wolves, Ruby Canyon Pack and Jade River Pack. My real life dream will be to get this book published, which I will try with all my might to make come true..
When I write a story I always get through a few chapters and then get bored of it because I don't know where I'm going. This time I shall not let that happen. I need your help, both for tips on being a good writer (I am fairly good) and suggestions for the story line. Keep your eyes open in book stores, just in case my dream comes true Characters; Ruby Canyon Pack

Long ago in the forests of Mexico there was a wolf pack much like any other. There were two alphas, two betas, a shaman, common wolves, and an omega or two. They were rather large and had probably thirty members. They lived for many generations peacefully. Then, a pack came who would change everything for this pack. They were called, the Pack qui tue. For a while they stayed away and minded their own business. After a few months of this they sent a messenger who explained that their alphas wanted to meet with them. At first they were very much opposed to the idea, but then they decided it would be OK since the Pack Qui Tue hardly ever even took a paw step less than 100 miles away so they obviously didn't care to harm this pack. When the meeting came everyone was curious to find out what the Pack Qui Tue wanted. The alphas met, only to find out that this pack wanted them to join, to make a super pack. The alphas said they would think about it and left to discuss the matter with the pack. Half said join, half said let them get lost. This led to a civil war. The alpha male wanted to join them and the alpha female wanted to stay independent, but they did not fight each other. They tried to make the other members stay peaceful. In the end, the pack split in two. Half went with the Pack Qui Tue, and half left to find a different territory. Both the alphas went to find a new territory and the other half of the pack just chose new alphas. The two packs know nothing about how the other is doing, where they are, or if they're even still alive. It has been many years, many generations have gone by, and sometimes the thought crosses one's mind that the two pack's past might be forgotten one day. Ways of the Packs:
Respect one and only one alpha or alpha pair
Betray the pack and you shall be shown no mercy.
Killing shaman wolves is forbidden
Kill a pregnant female prey and you don't eat or hunt for one day
Mothers are treated with respect
Always listen to your hunting team leader
Alphas, betas, and shamans are to be treated with respect
If you fail to obey these rules alphas may punish you how they see fit

Please? Somebody suggest something? | | | 11-06-2009, 10:07 PM | #6 | ♥ Webkinz :) Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 4,296 | Re: I'm Writing a Book I'm not sure, and this will probably not help, since I get these 'boring' times myself.
This is what I keep telling myself.
Keep trying to think of conflicts tthat can happen.
It's good you have a sotryline bordered.
Try to get farther on it then just write.
Write, write, write.
You can go through and modify and correct and revise later.
Hope this helped a bit!
