Chapter 3

"Maid Jeroma" Lilly hissed. The husky-voiced maid glanced at Lilly "What,your highness" she hissed back,not too kindly. "D'you know what this meeting is about?" Lilly was anxious. Maybe her parents,King and Queen Lucius and Pauletta would give her another ridiculous tutor. "No,now leave me. Your parents are making me tidy your room like it's made out of gold!" and that ended the conversation. "Yes,I know,Messenger. Now I must talk to our daughter" Lilly heard her father from the hallway. She straightened up,trying to look all lady-like. "Lilly" the queen bowed to her daughter. "Hello,mother" Lilly curtsied (dunno how to spell it ) . "Now,we know you're almost 13" Lilly tried to hold back a smirk. Freedom came into the princess mind. "Well....we arranged a meeting with a lovely prince...and-" that's all Lilly needed to hear to stop her from listening to her father. They were going to set her up! "What! Never!" she blurted. "Lilly!" Queen Pauletta cried. She shook her head. "I'm sorry" Lilly glanced at the both of them "I'm going to my room". Lilly ran like the enemy was behind her,instead of in front of her. She entered her room,luckily the maid wasn't there. Lilly locked the doors,closed the curtains and opened a long scroll of paper. The plans started to unfold.

Chapter 4

Lilly threw a brown backpack over her shoulder,containing only the essentials. A piece of 'home' was with her. A pink pearl drop necklace,tucked in her dress. It was early early morning,maybe 2:00. Maids weren't running around,Chef and sous-chefs were busy in their rooms and most of all,King and Queen Lucius and Pauletta were tucked in blankets of royalty. Lilly crept in the gold plated hallway,trying not to make a single noise. The guards would be all over her,it was dark so they wouldn't know if she was Princess Lilly or not. Lilly tightened her grip on the backpack and silently tiptoed down the stairs. Suddenly she heard groaning. "Oh gosh!" Lilly screamed in her mind. At the end of the stairs she heard voices who she recognized in a snap. "My,the king and queen are getting stricter with their little dear princess ev'ryday" Maid Jeroma's voice rang in the Great Hall. "The king has me running from village to village with notes!" the Messenger,whose real name was John, sighed. Lilly bit her lip,how can she pass them? There was a great alcove as a door for the Great Hall. Lilly flattened herself against a wall and waited. "I should really get some sleep.I should've slept earlier" the Messenger commented. "Take your shut-eye" Maid Jeroma groaned. Luckily,Lilly heard the messenger's footsteps go the other starcase,the Grand Staircase,King Lucius declared it. By the sound of it,Maid Jeroma was dusting and polishing the tables. "My duster,John must've knocked it" the maid muttered,by the Grand Hall could echo a secret conversation. Lilly heard the maid groan and bend down. SHe jumped at the opportunity and quietly zoomed from the Grand Hall Area. Lilly climbed up the ladder to the roof of the castle. The wind was loud,it was a good AND bad thing. It would cover up her sounds,but it could knock her off the roof. Lilly carefully slid to the panes of the windows,hopefully ev'ryone was sleeping and didn't notice. At the last pane,Lilly slipped. She squealed,but didn't scream. The wind was loud,nothing was heard of seen. Lilly ran from the garden gates,which was close to the village gates. She was free,free from royalty. But the challenge just now was easy compared to what was about to come.
