[August 30th] The NEW creative writing section ~ "What happened to my story?" and other questions answered here

Due to on going issues within the creative writing section we have made the decision to clean up threads in this area. We will be deleting those breaking the rules, and clarify the rules found at the top of the area.

This sticky is designed to answer any common questions about the situation as to why these changes are going on. Any further questions should be directed to one of the creative writing moderators found listed below. We hope these changes will bring a better understanding of the rules and a fresh perspective on things.

Why were some threads deleted?: It is very disappointing to have to remove some of the writings posted. They are very creative in their writing and story lines, and we all enjoy reading your stories as well. It should be stressed that this rule and others have not been changed, and it has always been stated that threads breaking the rules are at risk to being removed.

However, many of these stories featured themes of violence, romance or other "mature themes" that were never allowed on WI. Unfortunately, the view has been put forward that "if this story did it, so can I". This is incorrect. The stories that have been breaking the rules should have been flagged--just like any other section on Webkinzinsider.com. We ask for writings to be appropriate for are young members as well as older members too. Many different ages participate in WI.

Even if your story is approved. If it does not continue to follow the rules it may be deleted without notice. Please save your story else where and always follow the rules.


Why are we not allowed to chat on our stories anymore?: Members have never been allowed to create "personal chat threads" as that is not the intention of the threads found in this - or most other sections. We currently have two Daily Chat Threads that are used for "chit-chat" among members. We also encourage you to use the private message or visitor messaging features to talk with friends. But do note -- all rules still apply to these features.

What changes have been made to the section?: We have taken time to clarify the rules and posted them together in one sticky. This should give clear guidelines of what is and isn't allowed along with examples of those situations.

We have also made a change in the way stories are posted -- all stories will now have to be approved by moderators of the section (a list can be found below). Any story that does not follow these rules or is posted without permission will be removed.
