Hello! This story is mainly about a kit with a prophecy. It's made after my rp charrie Aquamist. I will write another story about her, and it will be LONG. So all you fans, stick around for my second story! NO offensive comments on this thread please. Some support and critical comments is fine.


Aquakits Prophecy A short story by Kat!
(That's me!)

Chapter 1
The Dream

“They are beautiful, I can tell you that,” Fernpoppy mewed. Iceflower had just given birth to three healthy kits. Aquakit ,Graykit ,and Thornkit. The mewling, furry bunch nuzzled against their mothers belly.
“I’ll leave you to rest,” said Fernpoppy as she exited the nursery. She felt a pang of worry shoot through her claws. Three delicate kits, born in the dead of leaf-bare. Would they live to get their apprentice names? One was very fragile, she worried about him the most. Pushing aside her worries, Fernpoppy settled down into her nest.

She awoke in a field full of flowers. In curiosity she looked all around her. To her left was a lake, but to her right, there lay a gloomy, mucky forest. Lighting cracked through the sky, with an enormous boom echoing afterwards.
She heard a rasping mew in her ear, “River, as blue as sky will replenish the forest.”

Fernpoppy jolted awake. River, as blue as sky will replenish the forest? The forest is fine! What does it mean by river? Fernpoppy shook away her thoughts for a moment.
“Starclan gave me a duty and I will do it” she whispered silently to herself.

Chapter 2
River?

The only “river” Fernpoppy had heard about was Riverpaw. Not the kind of cat you would think was the ideal one for a prophecy. I guess good things come in small packages? Fernpoppy had no idea how he especially would be in a prophecy. His name is River…….. Riverpaw would never be one of those legendary warriors. Fernpoppy lay in her nest quietly thinking.
From far off she heard a cat screech, ”Intruder!”

Intruder? Not Rainclan again! Fernpoppy raced out of the medicine cat den.
“It’s ok Fernpoppy,” a cat said. Fernpoppy was too shocked to wonder who told her. “There’s no need to-“
“Don’t tell me not to worry!” She screeched obviously angry. “There is an apprentice going to battle that I don’t need hurt!”
The cat stepped back, surprised.
“Very well then,” they mewed watching Fernpoppy trot off. “May Starclan light your path.”

Chapter 3
Not Possible…


Where is Riverpaw? Fernpoppy looked wildly around. No sign of any apprentices. From far off she heard a battle cry. He must be there! In desperation to find him, she raced off into the undergrowth not caring if the brambles were scratching her face and eyes. She came bursting out into a clearing, where blood was staining the ground. Moss that was green turned a sickly color of red. There she saw Riverpaw , laying dead on the ground.
“How in Starclan-?” Fernpopy screeched in frustration. She could have sworn he was the one the prophecy was talking about. Just then she saw a warrior padding toward her.
“How did this happen, I would like to know?” she yowled at him.
“M-my son! He’s dead!” The warriors eyes filled with anguish. “How- how did he die?”
“I’m not sure, I was asking you,”Fernpoppy mewed. She felt sorry for the tom, as he was his son.
“Well I don’t have any idea how it happened” he meowed looking down at Riverpaw. “Should we carry his body back to camp?”
“That would be respectful” Fernpoppy grabbed one side of him and lifted him up. Who else has something that resembles river? Then it hit her.

Chapter 4
Just a kit?

Aquakit!
But how could a kit have a prophecy so big? It certainly could be her because she has big, blue eyes, and the only one in the clan who has that big of blue eyes! Fernpoppy could be wrong, but it was her only hope. Starclan, if I’m right, please show me a sign! Fernpoppy closed her eyes for a moment, hoping that something would occur.
“Fernpoppy?” The tom mewed making her jump.
“Eh?” She said, embarrassed. She opened her eyes and felt her fur grow hot.
“Sorry, I was just wondering if you were okay.”
She nodded as they were coming through the camps entrance. Gasps of grief echoed all aroung the clearing.
“He’s dead!”
“So young too.”
Fernpoppy expected the worse as she waited for Riverpaw’s mother to see. Her tail drooped as she heard a cry from a fox-length away.
“Riverpaw! Is he dead? He can’t be!” The she-cat touched her nose to his fur and let out yet another wail. “He’s dead! NO! NO! My only son….”
Fernpoppy could only imagine the grief she must face.

During Riverpaw vigil, Fernpoppy was still with grief, but busy in her head. Show me a sign Starclan, please! She looked over at the tiny kit outside of the nursery. The kit saw Fernpoppy looking at her. The she-cat’s eyes suddenly turned into a raging river of aqua blue. There’s my sign. Another worry crossed her mind after the sudden wave of joy. How will I tell a kit, let alone her mother? The only way is to……wait until she is an apprentice. As Fernpoppy thought more, she decided to wait for the seasons to come to tell the small, young she cat.
River, as blue as sky, will replenish the forest.
