Chapter 1
Spoiler: show
One cool afternoon, I decided to go to the markets where everything imaginable was sold for outrageously low prices. There were things from fruits and vegetables, to silk and cloth, to hand-woven baskets! When I was looking around, I noticed how trashy the place was. I picked up a few cans and paper just sitting on the ground and plopped them in the nearest trashcan. I slowly walked, enjoying the cool breeze gusting in, making everybody's hair fly back. I walked over to the cloth and silk, where they also sold clothing. It was getting a little chilly, so I asked for the price of this one sweater that stood out above the others as if it had a bright aura surounding it. It was so distracting, that I didn't care I had just payed $80 for a sweater (In the MARKETS). I put it on wondering what was so special about that made me see it and nothing else around me. I put it on. Nothing. I don't know if it meant it was special for only certain people or if I didn't know how to use it. Whatever it did, I intended on finding out...soon.

Chapter 2
Spoiler: show
"Huh," I sighed as I opened the door to my small, but cozy and comfortable apartment. The rugs were a beige that no matter what color you put with it, it always looked nice. The walls were the white that at times is so plain, it's annoying, yet, I still loved it. I flipped on the light switch which turned on the main room's bright overhead light. I took the sweater off, but still nothing happened. Nope. Nothing. I went into the bathroom and pulled my long dirty blonde hair up into a bun. Then, I washed my hands and heated up leftover spaghetti from the night before. While I sat there eating, I tried thinking about all the things a sweater could possibly do. "I wish I could just figure this sweater out," I mumbled to myself. When I finished eating, I put my dishes in the sink, and took a long look at the sweater. I was feeling how soft it was and looking at the great quality, when all of the sudden, a piece of worn notebook paper with fancy handwriting popped right out of the pocket
.

Chapter 3
Spoiler: show
"What could this possibly be?" I asked aloud. Then I picked up the small crackled piece of paper. It read: This sweater is a very special sweater like no other as you have probably found out. You must be a very special person to get it. I put this note in the pocket so that anyone who receives it knows it didn't fall from the sky, and it isn't a bad luck thing either. I cannot tell you how it works, that is part of the magic; figuring it out. Good luck. "Well that's not very helpful," I groaned. I decided to do research and see if there were any myths to the sweater or something similar to it. I put on a blue tank top and some baggy gray sweats then pulled out my laptop from under my bed. I swiftly ran over to the couch, plugged my laptop charger in, and turned it on. When the internet Yahoo! Search Engine came up, I typed in Fleece Sweater Legends and Myths. Fleece Sweaters on Sale, Mythical Creatures, Tales and Myths, Jason: The Quest for the Gold Fleece, nothing about a fleece sweater though. "Well, like the paper said, I have to figure it out myself."

Chapter 4
Spoiler: show
I woke up early the next morning around 6am. I found myself on the couch with my laptop on the floor turned on Stand-By from sitting so long. I realized I fell asleep in tiresome of the long, strange day. I was definitely not a person for not-knowing. I heard the pitter-patter of the steady beat coming from the rain outside. The lamp on the small wooden table beside me flickered and my laptop shut off. "The power went out...just great!" I mumbled. I put on my light blue waterproof raincoat, a pair of comfy blue jeans, and thick tennis shoes. I went outside of my apartment taking my wallet and my keys, and stuffing them in my pocket. I quickly ran to my old used car, that looked as good as new. It was a small, but nice 4-door car that was a cream color. I stuck the key in and turned the car on. The heat felt extremely good apart from the freezing rain. Thunder and lightning came about out of the start from a small bit of rain. I strapped the seatbelt in over me and pulled out of the apartment's parking lot. I didn't know where I was going yet, but I had to get out of the house. The last thing I needed was to think more about the sweater.

Chapter 5
Spoiler: show
Now it was around 6:30. I drove around a few places close by, trying to decide where to go. I finally pulled into a McDonald's drive thru and ordered a small coffee. Then I had to determine what to do next. I drove through the rainy streets for what seemed like hours, but was really on 20 minutes, and I stopped at a locally owned bookstore. I checked there to see if there was any information or myths of the sweater, but again, no luck. Finally, I just decided to drive home, and deal with it. When I got to my apartment, I quickly walked up the 2 sets of stairs with my half-finished coffee and my keys in my hand. I unlocked the door, went inside, and right inside sitting as normal looking as could be was an elderly lady on my couch! I dropped my keys and coffee right on the floor and just stood there, shocked as ever.

Chapter 6
Spoiler: show
"Whho aaare y---" I stammered without finishing. "Don't ask questions darling, just listen." the elder lady elegantly said as if she were from another time. "Now, don't be wasting your breath on the nonsense I always get like who are you, why are you here, and etc. I will explain everything to you" the woman added delightfully and yet a little irritated. She was very nice looking for an elder with her long, curly, gray hair pulled up in a ponytail with tight curls and a pink flower in the back. Her face was smooth and her smile was gentle and kind, so it made you feel comfortable to be around her. The woman's eyes were a deep gray/blue, contrasted with my dull green eyes, they were like no other I'd ever seen. She began to speak, "I am the previous owner of the fleece sweater, and yes, I wrote the note, but no I will not tell you how it works. I could tell you were seeming to give up on figuring it out. Never do that! This sweater does possess power that could easily make one happy. All I have to say is Don't Give Up! Here is a hint; Time is priceless, live every moment the truest." Then the elder lady disappeared into thin air before I knew it.

Chapter 7
Spoiler: show

I thought over the lady's words, but then I started thinking back to the way the woman looked. She looked as if she had come from another place and time. She talked differently too. Time is priceless........Live every moment the truest......what could this mean? Well, when I think of living every moment the truest I think of being where I want to be in life; to do what I, myself, really want to be doing. "Wait, what if...maybe, just maybe," I broke of thinking in my head. "What if the sweater took you places?!?!?" I exclaimed out loud. I was so excited and involved in the idea I got a little dizzy and lightheaded. I went and sat down on the couch to catch my breath and calm down. My head was killing me from all the thinking and stress I'd been through all in just one day. I figured I'd relax by taking a soothing bath. Afterward, I changed into my fuzzy like pajamas that were pink with unique blue designs on them, which were extremely comfortable and warm. I lay down under my cream comforter with pink flowers and green leaves embeded in it to rest and I promised that tomorrow would be the day I test the sweater for sure...
Chapter 8

Spoiler: show
The next morning I woke up late at around 9:30am. I felt really good now that I had gotten a long night's sleep. I had forgotten I had applied for a part-time job for the summer at Jay's. Jay was one of my best friends, and he has been ever since the 7th grade. Jay's father owned a small local shop with surf stuff and cool little trinkets, and since Jay came up with the idea of the shop, it was named Jay's. My shift started at 9:45 and it started today! I only had 15 short minutes to pull myself together. I threw on an outfit of a longsleeve green layered tee and some white jean capri - like shorts. Kinda tacky, but cute, at the same time. I put on my white flip-flops, pulled my hair back in a hurry, and put some lipgloss on. By then, it was 9:40. The shop was about 10 minutes away, I knew I couldn't make it without being late. Now was my chance to test it out. I put on the sweater after putting my keys and wallet in my denim purse and flinging it on my shoulder. "Whew," I breathed and took a deep breath. I slowly said this exact line, "I am about to be late for work, take me to Jay's so I can be the clerk." I was too frightened to open my eyes though. I waited and took another deep breath. I slowly opened my eyes.

Chapter 9
Spoiler: show
There right in front of me, layed the lovely little store; Jay's. As shocked as can be, I shaikily walked up the 3 steps to the door and walked in. Jay was already there, and gave a quick wave and "Hey." I looked at the plain black clock on the old-fashioned wooden walls. It was now 9:45 exactly, I figured the traveling takes you to the place when you want to be there. So, I was extremely excited to have figured out how the sweater worked. I took my register place from 9:45 to 1. I was ecstatic when my shift ended, because the day had gone by slowly. We had a minimum of customers, and so we just walked around the homey-feeling store talking about how our summers had been going. I waved goodbye before I left out of the door, but before I could get far, Jay said, "Do you need a ride home?" I simply said as if I were taking my car, "I'm good," with a smile. When I got out the door I turned my head and gave a wink, but Jay missed it.

Chapter 10
Spoiler: show
When I got far enough away from Jay's, I whispered to myself, "I now am ready to go home, take me to the apartment I own." This time, I quickly opened my eyes. I was right in front of the apartment steps. I walked up the two flights of stairs and took the key out of my pocket and unlocked the door. All of the sudden, I heard a very small, "meooooow." Then. I heard it again but louder. I looked around and then sitting in my window was a little tabby kitten with brown, gold, and white colors on her. Her neck and chest was a faded white/gold color, while her body was that gold that looks stunning and gorgeous. She had light and dark brown stripes running down her back, dark brown paws, and the most beautiful hazel/golden eyes I had ever seen. I cannot resist to not take in a homeless kitten, so I brought her in my apartment with me. I decided to take her to the vet tomorrow after work. When I was deciding what to name her, I saw leaves from the trees flying by outside of my window. Many of them were from the amazing maple trees near the parking lot swept up by the growing winds. "Maple...hmmm...that's it! I'll call you maple."

Chapter 11
Spoiler: show
I layed down on my bed stroking my new pet Maple, as she was now positioned curled up asleep beside me. I was wondering if the kitten was just ther by coincidence, or if she was some kind of sign. "I doubt it'd be a sign," I told myself in a calmed way. With Maple there now, I felt relaxed for once, but I couldn't figure out why. I got on my laptop after slowly getting off the bed, being sure not to disturb the sleeping kitty. I checked my e-mail really quick, but there was nothing but spam and random advertisements. I reluctantly turned off my laptop, put on some pjs, brushed my teeth, and climbed into bed. I was so tired, I hadn't realized it was only 8pm. I woke up with a scare at 4 in the morning by Maple. She was continuously meowing in her sleep. I carefully and softly shook her attempting to be gentle while getting her up. She slowly opening her big gold eyes, as if they were glow-in-the-dark. She got up, made circles, and curled up right on my stomach. That's what I get for laying on my back. I was still extremely tired, so I fell back asleep in no time, especially with the soft, hushed noise of Maple purring, lulling me to sleep.

Chapter 12
Spoiler: show
At 8am, after 12 HOURS of sleep, I woke up full of joy. I don't know why I was tired, but I think it was because of so much excitement in one day. Maple was already up and sitting on the counter near the sink. I Took a small bowl and filled it with water. I watched her as she gently licked up every drop of water left. I had a carrier from when I had to take care of Jay's cat when he went out of town. I put Maple in the carrier and slipped out the door, without the sweater this time, and of course had my keys and wallet with me. I put Maple with her carrier in the passenger seat of my car. I put the keys in, turned on the ignition, and headed off toward the vet's. It only took about 15 minutes to get there, and when we did, the parking lot was almost empty because they had just opened. I brought Maple in and told the how I found her and wanted to make sure she was up to date on shots. She said they'd be a few minutes, so I ran over to the pet store across the street. I got a catbox, cat litter, cat food, and food bowls for about $20. I went back to the vet and they said they gave her a few of the shots she needed and I payed a low price for it all because I had previously been a vet volunteer worker.

Chapter 13
Spoiler: show
I took Maple home and sat on the couch eating some of the best Chinese carry-out from a local restraunt. There was nothing interesting on TV, so I just sat there watching Maple delicately poking through her food. She seemed to find the cat box very interesting, so she jumped on top of it, walked around it, and even played in it! When I finished eating, I thought it would be a nice day for a walk in the park around the corner. Maple seemed amused with herself, and I figured I wouldn't be long, so I took the sweater, and said, "Maple is now cared for and tended, let me have a break and get to the park that is newly mended." This thought came to me because people had been picking up trash around the park, repainting the benches, and etc. Many daisies and wildflowers had been planted around the path I was walking on, and the pond looked beautiful with the skys medium blue reflection along with the tall green grass. As I walked, I laughed thinking of all the silly things Maple might be doing.

Chapter 14
Spoiler: show
After walking in the park for about 20 minutes, it started getting dark, so I made a quick scan to make sure nobody was around. I softly said, "It is now getting late and dark, take me home out of the park." When I got home, I found the whole roll of toilet paper shredded on the ground, and I found Maple curled up annocently asleep on the couch. As I picked the pieces of toilet paper off the ground I thought about how I really wanted to go on va-ca this summer. I didn't know where I wanted to go though. With the sweater, I didn't have to waste money on gas or plane tickets, or snacks along the way, I just......go there. I looked up on my laptop this time in the Google Search Engine: Great Vacation Spots as I ate some yogurt because I wasn't really hungry. I clicked on one site that said Top Ten Vaction Spots in America. The list said: Islands of Hawaii, New York City, Las Vegas, Florida, Alaska, The Grand Canyon, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and The Carolinas. Then, I thought of a place I wanted to visit....Canada. I had to think about the choices, but there was one thing I knew...I was going on vacation.

Chapter 15
Spoiler: show
I thought about it for awhile during my early morning shift at Jay's. I even asked him on my break, "If you could choose one awesome place to go on vacation this summer, where would you want to go?" He took a minute to think, then said, "Italy." I began to wonder if I could tell Jay about the sweater, and maybe, even take him to Italy myself. I went back to my shift, but today, there were quite a bit of people there. One young girl who came in with her mom bought a piece of stained glass with a fairy on it. Another elder man bought a jewelry box that had a saying about wives on it. I really thought that seemed sweet. Then, afterward there were a few others that seemed to be doing minor buys, but they all seemed like nice people. After my shift, Jay asked why I had wanted to know where he would want to go. So I told him after he closed the store later, if he had time, to meet me at the park around 4ish. He agreed, so I left the Jay's, but this time, I stayed in front of the store and repeated as I had last time, "I now am ready to go home, take me to the apartment I own." When I got home Maple was sitting on the couch as if she were expecting me.

Chapter 16
Spoiler: show
I lounged on my bed reading through a few magazines. I thought about how scary it'd be to even try and tell Jay about the sweater. My heart kept pounding until I couldn't stand it. I got off the bed and went into a nervous frenzy. I straightened my hair out quickly, I brushed my teeth, I put on lipgloss, I changed my whole outfit, then I still had like an hour until Jay would be here. I filled Maple's food and water bowls, and I put on the sweater and stammered out this, "I cannot take the nervousness any more, take me to the nearest grocery store." Even just grocery shopping for me help relieve stress. I picked up the usual, milk, eggs, coffee beans, cream, and a few snacks. As I went along each isle, I walked slowly because my head was spinning and it felt like I had just gone on a roller coaster. I walked out of site after I sat at the self-check-out line for a few minutes and payed, then I said, "I am now calm and have officialy payed, now take me home so I can meet with Jay." As soon as I got home I looked at the clock; 4 o'clock sharp. (As I said earlier, it takes you where you want when you want.) There was a quick, simple knock at the door. I inhaled deeply and opened the door, prepared for him not ready to believe what I was about to tell him.

Chapter 17
Spoiler: show
"Hey," Jay shyly said. "Hey, come on in," I shakily pulled the door wide open. I quickly decided there was no way that I could possibly tell him. Me and him both seemed extremely nervous about the meet. "So, what did you wanna talk to me about?" he asked, slowly sitting down on the couch. This was the exact reason I couldn't tell him, because I knew he'd ask that question, and on that very moment I did; and would have anyways, drawn a blank. I said thinking up an excuse, "I decided I want to.......go on vacation," I continued, "I'm going where you wanted to go...Italy." Hr tryed not to gape at what I had just said, but it didn't work, even though I had tried to said it as open and casually possible. He said, "Wow. That's wonderful!" I pointed out, "You know I'll be out of work for about a week for leaving, and I wanted to know what I can do to help with that." He said, "I'll figure something out, or I'll just do double shifts, plus it's only a week right?" Yeah, I guess so," I replied glumly, knowing he really wanted to go too.

Chapter 18
Spoiler: show
We ended up hanging out talking about how things were going and about family, and plans. I kept thinking of how I just couldn't stand not telling him, I was about to go crazy. I had to deal with not telling him, it would probably freak him out. Plus, would he actually go if he did happen to believe me? After about an hour of us chatting up a storm, we remembered we were supposed to go to the park. So I gave Maple fresh food and water, and I about grabbed my sweater because I was getting used to the idea, but I stopped right in my tracks, and snatched my keys instead. We got to the park without traffic or any other problems. When we got there we walked around the pond's path a few times sharing ideas of whatifs. We came up with the most outrageous things and we laughed and talked til' the sunset was in front of us with the most amazing view and the reflection from the lake. I gently said, "We better get going, it's getting late." We looked at each other for a moment and realized it was starting to rain. The two of us laughed and started running toward my car. When we got in, I started the car and turned up the heat. Back at my apartment, he said thanks for the great night, and I smiled and said, "We should do it again sometime."

Chapter 19
Spoiler: show
The next day after work, I went outside, hoping Jay wouldn't ask me to go somewhere again tonight, because even though I had fun, it was a little awkward and unusual. As I went out, I decided I wanted to go pick up something to drink, because I was parched from an extra shift. Of course, wearing my sweater, I said, "I'm thirsty from a long day, take me to Chik-Fil-A." When I got there, I ordered a small cookies-and-cream milkshake; my favorite. Their milkshakes were the best I'd ever tasted. I tried to figure out in the crowd, how I would make my escape this time. I went out to the park benches, where nobody was there except a few pigeons. I ducked down, acting as if I'd dropped something, and swiftly mumbled the usual, "I now am ready to go home, take me to the apartment I own." When I got in my apartment, Maple was going berserk by the door. I opened the door, and standing right in front of my own two eyes was Jay.

Chapter 20
Spoiler: show
Jay asked in a kind of surprised, weak, voice, "May I come in?" "Of course," I said, thinking how this was the exact thing I didn't want to happen. "What is it," I asked, thinking I knew the answer already. "You....dis..dis...disapper..ed....out of nowhere," he said as if he was hoping I wouldn't think he had gone crazy. "I know," I said quietly, "I wanted to tell you, but, I was scared." "Of what, that I'd tell, or that I'd think you're insane," he partially laughed. "Ummm...well...probably the second one," I laughed it off. Then I asked him if he was mad at me for not telling him, and he simply replied with a shy smile, "I wouldn't blame you." "Actually," I said kind of embaressed, "yesterday, I was going to ask you something, but I was too nervous to actually bring it up," I continued, "I wanted to know, *gulp* if you wanted to come....to Italy with me.....?" He gasped for air, and when he finally caught his breath, exclaimed, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" All the sudden I felt good inside. And the next question out his mouth, I already knew.

Chapter 21
Spoiler: show
As I had thought, the next question was, "How did you do it?" I replied slowly and sort of sarcastically, "A magic sweater." He said, "Is that why you almost always have it, and I never see your car in the lot?" he asked amused. "Yup, that's right!" I exclaimed. "Now you know that the both of us being on vacation, I'll have to close the shop altogether because there would be nobody but my father to work there right?" he smiled. "Hey, its only a week, remember?" we laughed. "We have to decide when to leave..." I thought aloud. He said dashingly, "How about in two days, then we can close the shop up and pack tomorrow!" he excitedly said. I was truly expecting him to be less sudden, but that was the Jay I knew. I smiled knowing how happy he was to be able to go to Italy, and with a friend.

Chapter 22
Spoiler: show

After he had left, I was so pleased with my work, I twirled around until I felt dizzy, but it was a good kind of dizzy. Like when you lay upsidedown for fun. I felt like a child, acting so immature about it all, but I didn't really care. I was just so surprised that I actually had made my own decision for me and Jay to go to Italy! I was so stunned, I couldn't believe myself. I saw Maple staring at me as if she were amusing by watching me act so silly. I wondered what the small little kitten was thinking. I then pondered where I would keep Maple on my trip. With me? In the vet? I wasn't sure what it would cost keeping her in the vet so I figured, somehow I'll figure out a way to keep her with me. Plus, I thought to myself, how hard can it be to keep up with her? The rest of my evening I read articles and articles about Italy to catch up on last minute....education you coud call it. I imagined what it would be like to visit places like Rome, all of it's famous buildings and statues, then Florence, and it's towers and museums. I couldn't wait!

Chapter 23
Spoiler: show

I tired myself out reading and having such excitement from Jay being delighted and not freaked about the whole "magic sweater" stunt I pulled. I curled up under my soft cottony comforter with Maple in the crook of my legs. That night, I dreamed of Italy, and the luxurious hotels and beautiful cities. The next morning I woke up around 8 o'clock. Maple was already up meowing for food, so I quickly put a small scoop of food in her bowl and a swig of fresh water in the other. Afterward, I gulped down a banana and a granola bar with a small cup of milk. I walked to my dresser, picked out a pair of brown corduroy pants and a brown tanktop. Then, I threw on my always-preferred cream sweater (a great compliment to brown). Next, in a joyful hopping kind of way, made it into the bathroom just to take a quick second to pull my hair back in the usual bun. Being content with myself, I brushed my teeth, smiled satisfyingly, and turned the light out. I got my shoe bucket out and put on some comfy, brown ballet flats.
Without even truly thinking I whipped through the words, "I'm ready for this thrilling day, take me where I can see Jay."

Chapter 24
Spoiler: show
I was immediately at Jay's. I couldn't believe I - no no, I corrected myself - WE were going to go to Italy tomorrow! As soon as I saw Jay, I, for no reason, ran and gave him a warm hug. He was already working on closing up the shop. I went into the store locked up the cash register, turned out the lights, flipped the sign to closed, and came back out the front door. I re-locked the door and wiped my hands together as if there was dirt on them. Jay said, "Well that wasn't too hard. What do you want to do now?" "Uhhmmm.....," I stammered for words. "Me too," he smiled. Then, out of nowhere, I thought of an idea. "Hey, do you wanna test the sweater for multiple people before we try going to Italy?" I suggested. He nodded agreeingly. I wrapped the sweater around us both and came up with words. "This sweater works for one, shall two people be just as fun?" I said wondering if it was going to work.

I'd love to hear your comments and opinions! Please tell me if you have any ideas for future chapters! Thanks. *~CAN15~*
