I've been making graphics for quite awhile now and have re-modeled my shop many times, testing out which designs and layouts are the most successful. So, I thought I would make this post dedicated to people who are not having much business, or are just beginning creating graphics. Here I will post some suggestions to help make your shop more successful, some tips to help beginners or really anyone. I will be adding to this post when I feel I have something more to say that will help.

When Creating A Shop...
When creating or re-doing a shop you may not know what order or design layout to chose, or what type of title. I will definitely help you figure it out!

1. Creating a title.
When you go about creating a title you might not want to go with something too long. I went with 'Live. Love. Laugh. Avatars by Sarah.' As you can see, I added a short quote I liked, then got straight to the point. I make avatars. If someone is looking for an avatar, they know they can come here to find one. So maybe try out a quote, then say something like avatars and signatures by _____. Or just quotes, avatars, or signatures. Sometimes using too many symbols will make people not want to click because of the busyness in the title.

2. Picking the right layout.
After you pick your title, you will want to move onto the main portion. First, you will want to put your banner, if you have one. Then write a little something about yourself and/or your graphics. If you have rules for your shop, post them next. Then move onto examples. I would put Avatars, Signatures, Avatar & Signature sets, Banners, and then Backgrounds (those are just basic categories most people make/have). If you have another layout you like better, go ahead and use it, remember these are just suggestions. Also, if you have a form for the item(s) post them after or before the example.

3. Keeping Track
When orders start coming in, I would reserve a post for lists like completed orders, orders in progress, and orders waiting to be started. This helps you keep track of what you have left to make, and what you already finished. If you don't have one of these, that's fine. I only have a completed orders list.

4. Attracting Customers
If you aren't getting many customers, then add a link or advertisement in your signature. Also, if you are using your own avatar or signature you made you could write underneath your signature, " Avatar and/or Signature made by me." and then a link to your shop.

5. Completing orders
Don't rush when you are making your graphics. The more time and care equals the better quality graphic. And remember, have fun with it!
