New to Trading Cards You experts in here are the BEST and virtually only source of good Webkinz info that I am finding onine. Please, if only a handful of these questions could be answered, I would be very grateful. I've looked endlessly for threads on beginners w/ trading cards, but having no luck.
ANYONE willing to help me with the following questions? Pweeeez ?
- Please explain the general purpose of purchasing trading cards.
- What are the main differences in the series? Themes? Benefits?
- Does the W-shop sell more than just Series 1 Binder? How do you see your virtual cards from seasons 2-4....or are the virtual cards exclusive to Series 1?
- What do you do when you have more than 1 of a virtual (or real) card? How do you trade them?
- Where would you go to trade them? I see that there is a trading thing on this site once you apply and are chosen to gift (is that what its called?)
- I guess there are games (real and online) to play with trading cards. Anyone shed some light on these games? How many? Are they fun? How many real cards do you need? How many virtual ones?
Sorry for all the questions. I am just starting to buy these...but am a little lost with what to do with them (besides entering the codes...lol). You guys ROCK with the info, and I'm just not find any sort of BEGINNER'S guide to trading cards in here.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!! | | | 07-02-2009, 12:54 AM | #2 | How nice it is to be Gifted Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 1,929 | Re: Help PLEASE! New to Trading Cards whoo-ey lkj..thats a bunch of questions.. -you have come to the right place!! First off-congrats on joining in the trading card "addiction"..
In series 1 & 2, you have the option to collect the cards into binders online..once you have completed the entire set in each series, you will "unlock" super prizes..it is pretty hard to do, & will probabally cost a bunch to do so(just ask me )
In 1 & 2, you are not "gauranteed" much for prizes..some is kc, food, coupons, a piece of a particular theme for that series..I say its a gamble..STILL-some of the prizes are coveted items.
In series 3 & 4, you are always going to unlock "something"..but-no unlocking items due to collecting the entire sets..still, in 3 & 4, you have the option of winning either a Magical Retriever(3), or the Mystical Panda(4)..those are REALLY special pets to have.
As for trading the items, well-pretty much ANY of the trading card items are very tradeable. You can either take your chances in the trading rooms, or, when you have 50 NON-FLUFF posts, you can APPLY to become a gift trainee here on WI..
As for playing the trading card game in WW, Yes, you can play the trading card challenge in the arcade..I am not too familiar w/the game myself, but-I am sure others can better guide you in how to actually play it..I have tried it before, & I found out that I am really miserable at it!
If you have more questions that I have not addressed, let me know..I tried to cover the basics as best I could..I could explain more if need be
Good luck w/your cards-I am a super collector of them, & they are pretty easy to get addited to!! __________________ WARNING: I'm a Carpet Shark !! STILL waiting to be a Webkinz... You've helped a lot. I'm trying to justify my recent and ridiculous rampage of spending on webkinz items. I need to slow it down!!! I've been getting good deals...but even so, I know I need to give it a rest. Its addicting, not knowing what you'll uncover when you put your code in.
I guess it is what it is. I need to just collect them slowly, perhaps, and see where it goes. Thanks again for your help! I know I'm not the only one asking these newbie questions...this will help others as well. | | | 07-02-2009, 01:19 AM | #4 | How nice it is to be Gifted Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 1,929 | Re: Help PLEASE! New to Trading Cards Yes, I understand the process and, to many-well-they just don't understand the "high" hearing that "whooo" sound in the code shop..the endorphins that get released into the brain on that sound alone..
Yup-I think the himself made those cards...
I am hoping that someone else who can explain the game to you will reply on this thread too...I myself could use a "refresher" on the arcade game rules.. __________________ WARNING: I'm a Carpet Shark !!
