That was the point on making it. I've had that happen before I knew about WI. | | | 12-10-2009, 12:58 PM | #54 | Gifted Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 18,166 | Re: TIPS On How NOT to get Ripped/Scammed/Cheated in the Trading Room/Clubhouse by xxaeroxx and SunnyPup20 If you'd like to add your own ideas then go ahead. 1) Never trade an object that you actually want - then even if you get scammed you don't have to worry about replacing the object you lost - you didn't lose anything that you 'valued' anyway.
2) ALWAYS take your time.
Trying to 'rush a deal' in fear of losing it is setting yourself up for problems.
Their is a bug that scammers may be able to exploit (it has happened between my kids when they have been trading with each other so it can also happen randomly) where the person you are trading with gets your object and they keep their object.
When an object is removed the image may still show up on the other persons trade window - not only that but it is possible to 'complete' the trade.
That said - it only seems to be possible when the happy/sad isn't set (i.e. both are grey). If the the person rushes to 'trade' if you remove and replace the object that you plan to trade and make sure you have set the happy / sad and then click trade you seem to be safe from this glitch. | | | 12-14-2009, 03:52 PM | #56 | Gifted Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 18,166 | Re: TIPS On How NOT to get Ripped/Scammed/Cheated in the Trading Room/Clubhouse by xxaeroxx and SunnyPup20 Originally Posted by JustDad Two points I haven't seen mentioned:

I did once.. \: | | | 12-15-2009, 11:38 AM | #59 | eAreAware Gifted Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 6,480 | Re: TIPS On How NOT to get Ripped/Scammed/Cheated in the Trading Room/Clubhouse by xxaeroxx and SunnyPup20 The only time I ever let people borrow my items is if they are my absolute BEST FRIENDS or REALLY GOOD FRIENDS. I do get them back, though. SO it's all goood.
(this happened to me tip 1)
TIP: Don't get talked out of the scam. Some people will be so nice to you, and even after the trade they still will, so you feel like you got their trust. Example: Say they traded something that they had that was their favorite item. The scammer might even say: I'm going to help you get that item back, I'll have it by tomorrow. Then they added me as a friend and then they said they had to go eat lunch a few minutes later, and then once they left, I was removed from their friend list and I never saw that person again.
NEVER FALL FOR THIS, NO MATTER HOW NICE THE PERSON IS, DO NOT GET TALKED OUT OF A SCAM. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
