I went into the trading room, and asked for Charm Forest flooring. I met this person... here, just read it for yourself x]

ME: *enters room* Does anybody have the Charm Forest flooring?
SIG. COCKER SPANIEL: I do!
ME: *invites them to trade*
SIG. COCKER SPANIEL: *accepts*
ME: Hello! *smiley face*
SIG. COCKER SPANIEL: Hi!
ME: Can I see the flooring?
SIG. COCKER SPANIEL: Oh, I don't have that.
ME: What?
SIG. COCKER SPANIEL: I was just kidding.
ME: Um, OK? *exits trade*

Later, I went into a different room and asked for the flooring. Listen to this one:

ME: *enters room* Does anybody have the Charm Forest flooring?
FLORAL FOX: I have the Charm Forest flooring!
ME: *invites them to trade*
FLORAL FOX: *accepts*
ME: Hi, can I see the flooring?
FLORAL FOX: What flooring?
ME: The Charm Forest flooring.
FLORAL FOX: I have no idea what you are talking about.
ME: Um, okay?
FLORAL FOX: Yeah, okay. *exits trade*

yah. wonderful people.


though, this could have also happened. i've been in a room with multiple people asking for different items, and they could have been answering other peoples questions.
