I'm hardly exaggerating when I say that every time I'm in any given room at any given time, I hear a cute little Webkinz utter, "I need a boy."
No. You NEED your head examined. It's Webkinz World, not e-harmony or match.com. I don't know why I get so annoyed by this. Maybe it's my inner feminist that weeps for the young girls of today. Or perhaps it's the thought that people are actually trying to find a significant other on a web site in which virtual animals talk to each other. And yet it also could be the plain and simple fact that YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS in the Clubhouse. If I wasn't just waiting around for the ghost and cared enough to report people, I'd have probably reported close to 30 young ladies this week for that single phrase.
Am I alone on this, or do you think it's inappropriate, too? | | | | 11-01-2009, 01:31 AM | #2 | ow I Love Being Gifted Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 1,214 | Re: If I hear it one more time... Wow I guess I don't spend that much time in the clubhouse, cause i've never seen anyone write that. LOL. | | | 11-01-2009, 01:32 AM | #3 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 284 | Re: If I hear it one more time... what i do when i see that: REPORT REPORT REPORT! it bothers me so much to! webkinz is a children's site, not a dating site! "I Need a Boy" is probably the least of your problems when you're talking about inappropriate webkinz behavior in the clubhouse. I have also seen people say "I was so dunk last night," and just yesterday I was waiting for the ghost only to see some webkinz saying "I don't know why she broke up with me" and "I need to win her back." I mean seriously GIVE ME A BREAK! If you were actually old enough to be "involved" with someone, then you would not be talking about it via webkinz. Since I know that this is the case, then this means kids are making this stuff up for the pure sake of "drama" (which is a word in and of itself that irritates me). It's not only frustrating, but it's also sad. | | | 11-01-2009, 07:41 AM | #5 | iscream247 Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 576 | Re: If I hear it one more time... I honestly think that a lot of the times we see this happen the tweens are responsible. This is their way of trying out their dating wings. I know it seems so young, but alot of them have older siblings that are dating and talk of relationships now seems to begin in grade school. Fortunately, there is no easy way for these children to know who they are speaking with and the chances of them coming into contact in real life is slim to none. I wish parents would not assume these children are old enough to be on the computer without some monitoring. | | | 11-01-2009, 08:45 AM | #6 | is a very lazy Webkinz :) Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 1,014 | Re: If I hear it one more time... i know! these people are so odd!!!
when someone asks my poor pet to "be their girl" i say "no, i'm not a bubble head"
i even asked someone who said "i need a boy" what they need them for? they ignored me.
personally, i like watching them tell people how they are like, 10 (tin) and the girl they are trying to ask out is like, 13. (tree team) i don't think that works to too well,
it is the tweens!
because teenagers have other online sites to do these things, but the tweens are probably only allowed to go on "kid safe" sites so they use webkinz as their kinda weird dating area.
but yes, i agree completely! i wish there was a button to knock some sense into these people. | | | 11-01-2009, 10:05 AM | #7 | Sausage! :D Webkinz :) Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 1,294 | Re: If I hear it one more time... I reported a Webkinz cocker spaniel ( the original), but forgot her name, and she said tha she needed a boy. I reported her THREE times because you are not supposed to discuss relationship. | | | 11-01-2009, 10:17 AM | #9 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Feb 2009 Posts: 10,997 | Re: If I hear it one more time... I hear it a lot too. It gets annoying. Plus, the report thing doesn't work well.
I just leave the room, ghost or no ghost. | | | 11-01-2009, 03:30 PM | #10 | Guest | Re: If I hear it one more time... Yeah, maybe I should start reporting them when I see that. It just seems like reporting is not enough anymore.
It's not just "I need a boy," either, as thejabronisayz said. I've seen "I want him back" and "She left me!" too. Or they'll approach my boy bunny and ask if I'm a boy or girl. When I say I'm a girl, they'll say something huffy and go to ask the next person. Same thing happens if they walk up to me and ask if I think they're pretty. I will say, "You are gorgeous!" because I think ALL pets are really cute. They will take that to think I'm trying to hit on them. Maybe I should start replying to them with, "You're all right, for a GIRL!" | | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
