I think i got scammed.

Um, forgive me, but I don't see how this was a scam. First off, the prom dress would not have gotten retired items. In my mind getting a rare item for it was MAYBE a little less than it's worth, but not a lot. Also, you saw the item, you put up the prom dress, you clicked trade. If someone told me they were giving up their account, I wouldn't feel sorry for them, because it means that they are voluntarily giving it up (maybe they're too old, don't like it anymore, who knows). I don't see why telling me they're giving up their account would make me want to give up one of my good items to them.

In addition, not all people who say they're giving up their account are scammers. In fact, I have NEVER ran into someone who said "I am giving up my account and trying to get rid of everything" who was attempting to scam. Every single time, I have traded an apple for 3 very good items.

Bottom line: unless the person offered you a rare item for your prom dress and then switched the rare item with food at the last minute, I don't see how this is a scam at all.

No this isn't a scam. The rare, is about the value of the dress. This person may just want to get rid of it, and maybe because the dress will probably sell for less than the rare, maybe he wants nothing on the account. He was likely trying to scam, as to what post above says, but the dress for a rare is pretty fair. You can check the dress and the rare you have values on the WI GEV and compare them

I'm not sure... I don't really think it was a scam, but I am not for sure... Maybe they really were giving up their account and would trade for anything. I have no idea, but I think it was fair enough either way..

Well, if they were giving up their account, they could be trading vauleble items for anythimg, so they wouldn't waste their items. I mean, they wouldn't use the Kinz cash, so what would the use be to sell it? Really, they could've been trading just to get rid of their stuff.. They could trade 3 exclusives for an orange and that would be less to waste. They may not have even known that it was a fair trade on both sides. I am not arguing, I am just saying that, if I was giving up my account, I would go trade, so my stuff wouldn't just go to waste, when lots of little kids are begging rude people to give it to them.. Why bother when somebody offers it to you, for a peice of food or something wshop? Again, not arguing, I just see that person's side of the story as well.. Though Inuyasha11 very well could've been scammed, but I don't think so..

Yeah, thats a scam. I cannot believe the sillyness with people scamming for VIRTUAL ITEMS.

I don't thnk it was a scam. I'm sorry but I think you just made a poor decison. From what you say they put up an item and you felt sorry for them and knowingly traded your item for theirs. Scamming would be if they also promised to send you more items if you made the trade but this would also be a poor decision. I'm not quite clear on why you felt sorry for them because they said they were giving up thier account? I'm one of those people who think the prom dress is worth more than a curio item. You can't buy the prom dress and not everyone got one (just deluxe members) and a curio item is for sale to everyone several times a year.
