A Guide to Scammers in the Trading Room, in Webkinz World
Scamming is a bad thing and many people here, on WebkinzInsider, have been recently scammed out of some of their items on Webkinz World. Hopefully in this guide, you will learn how to tell if someone is a Scammer and what to do if you find one. Here are some tips to help you stay safe in the Trading Room!
What is a Scammer, and what do they do?
Overall, Scammers are terrible people you don't want to mess with. They scam (or trick) you out of your items on Webkinz World. In the trading room, they will probably trick you by putting up a less valuable item or lying to you with a personal problem. You should be carefull while trading, and shouldn't mess with Scammers!
Here is a Picture of a Scammer:
(Thanks Sparkle! for the great Picture of a Scammer in Action!)
{How they scammed:}
They put up the Crown Special Food Item and they said it was a Crown. That is one of the most often Scams. So, be aware if anyone tries to tell you that it is a crown!
How can you tell if someone is a Scammer?
If someone is a Scammer, you can probably tell by what they do. Usually, there are 2 types of Scammers. There are Scammers (like above) that lie to you and tell you that an item is something that it's not. There are also Scammers that are just plain mean to you. They say stuff like, "Hey, put that item back up there!" or "I said I wanted that! Put it back up! I won't trade you for anything else, meanie!" or something along those lines. They don't really scam you, they just be mean to you.
*Be aware of the Double Scam!*
Big thanks to DixieCup for letting us know about this tricky scam!!
There is something called a Double Scam where 2 people trick/scam you into their items. You need to be VERY careful when trading because when you first see this happen, you aren't usually aware of this. 1 person will come into the Trading Room and pretend to scam someone. That person that got scammed pretends to be very sad and then everyone else in the room feels sorry for that person. SO, everyone else in the room gives that person that was "scammed" their good/exclusive/rare items so they don't feel so bad. DON'T FALL FOR THIS!
Here are some things to do if you ever see a Scammer - Don't get involed with a Scammer, they usually only want to hurt your feelings and they only want your items.
- If see a Scammer, you should leave that room and try to trade later, or just leave that room and join a different Trading Room.
If you don't know what Item someone is trying to trade you, you should probably not trade, you might think it is a Rare/Exclusive when it is a W-Shop Item or food.
I would recommend that you Trade in the Regular Clubhouse and NOT Kinz Chat Plus so people can't TYPE what the item is, and trick/scam you into trading for it.
I think that you should probably Report the Scammer so they don't scam other Webkinz World members!
I am not allowed to keep a list of scammers here on this thread, so I suggest that you do not post scammers' WW username. Also, please do not post what you traded & got scammed for on this thread You can describe them by "exclusive items, rare, pet item, etc."
But how can you tell if an item is Rare or a regular item?
Some items you can think it is a Rare item, but it might be a W-Shop item. OR it might be the other way around! Luckily, WI Admin. FIA made a couple of threads you might wanna check out!!
(If they don't work when you click on them, you can copy & paste them!)
{ Here is the Picture Gallery and the Alphabetic Listing of Items!}
{Woohoo! Thank so much, FIA!!}
Here you can find a picture of every item on WW and every item on WW in ABC order! I think everyone should take a look at these awesome threads!
And Here is a Picture showing what some Scammers say are Items when they
are really food. {Thanks goes to Emloveswebkins and jdb10887!}
(Also be Aware for Scammers telling you that the
Seahorse Pet Specific Item is a color changing flower! -Ash12)
Be carefull, there are new Scams to not fall for!
Big thank you to DixieCup for letting us know about these new Scams!

Thank you, Texasgirl11, for awaring us that when trading, someone
tried to tell her that this Food was a Rare River and a POTM Item!
Don't fall for it!
Thank you, Berribrite, for awaring us that when trading, someone
said that this Porcupine Food was a special BED, ONLY for Birds!
Don't fall for it!
Thank you, Kellyschrvr, for awaring us that some people have been
trading the Fantail Goldfish PSF and saying that it was a Special POOL!
Don't fall for it!
{Once Again, More Scams...}
And thank you, OceanBluue, for letting us know about these Scams!
And here is a link to find many other pictures of scammers!
{This thread can help you see actual scammers in action!}
*You can Block Scammers from your Kinz Phone*
Thank you Geminicat21 for telling us all about this!
That is right, you can certainly BLOCK/DELETE/REMOVE Scammers from your kinz phone! So if you find out that one of your friends on Webkinz World is a Scammer, you can easily and safely just edit and remove them from your Kinz Phone. If you leave a Scammer on your Kinz Phone, they might be able to track you down and follow you around the Clubhouse, continuing to scam ya!
*Keeping track of where you went is Good*
Thank you, again, to Geminicat21 for telling us about this!
Keeping track of where you recently were in the Clubhouse is actually a good idea when it comes to the Trading Room. That way, incase something bad goes wrong in that room (like a Scammer was in it and you possibly got scammed) you can write it down and next time you want to go to a Trading Room, you can remind yourself and NOT go into that room! See, keeping track of where you went it a good thing!
*Be Aware - Check Before you Trade*
Big thanks COONYCOON for telling us!
You really need to check to see if there are Smiley/Frowny Faces under your items before you Trade! Sometimes if there aren't any Smiley Faces and/or Frowny Faces under your items... the item might not REALLY BE THERE! You need to be very careful before you click "Trade" and be sure that you are actually trading for REAL items!
*Ahhh! They can Keep their Items!*
Big thanks to Lilpanda123 for telling us about this tricky method!
When you click the "Trade" button and the other person you are trading with presses "Trade" they don't only take the items you were trading them, but they KEEP the items they were SO POSTED to trade/give YOU! What they do is they change a setting on their computer, then when it's loading to trade, they press some keys/buttons on their keyboard and it automatically gives your items to them!
{We still don't know exactly which buttons and
keys they press, but we're still trying to figuare it out!}
{More Info to Read from Hannahkinztana7!}

I trade in regular KinzChat so it seems like there'd be no way to scam me but there is. A lot of the times I'll meet what I call a "stubborn trader". I never really keep my rares in my dock becuase they are of great value to me, so instead I sometimes buy some items from the W-Shop to trade. Some people like them, some don't. There are three kinds of stubborn traders. The first kind is the kind that hate everything except super beds and incredibly rare items, like the blue and white dragster. DON'T TRADE WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEY WILL SCAM YOU INTO GIVING YOUR ITEMS AWAY! SAVE THEM OR SELL THEM! Their trick is that they usually already have those items by the hundreds or they don't have them, but either way they will sell them behind your back for profit. The second type is the type who act like they are dumb. This type bugs me. They will first act all poor and miserable, and put up something crazy, like a banana or a chocolate bar, while you have an Egyptan Vanity Chair or whatever up, and automatically confirm the trade. If they confirm, CANCEL and exit and don't trade with them ever again! Leave the room if you have to! The third type is a con artist type. They are they worst. They are similar to the first two types in that they act poor like the second type and refuse everything like the first type. They trick you into thinking that they are an innocent newbie, and you'll be like, alright, I know it's unfair, but I'll trade them my priceless Wacky Zingoz Jeans for a pair of worthless cowboy boots!
Lastly, don't be a scammer! There are WW police monitoring the rooms! They often stand still and in the middle of things and are not on the list but they are not illusions! If you scam they will catch you! -hannahkinztana7

A great idea for you and your kids!
Thank you, Rman32, for coming up with this idea!
If you and/or your Kids don't know what some of the newest Webkinz World recipe foods are, you can go to the Recipe Section here, on WI, and PRINT OUT some of the foods that you don't know! This can be a great referance while trading, so you don't get scammed for the food you don't know!
And you might want to read this post from Twinliz;
Some people aren't exactly "Scammers" Originally Posted by twinliz If you want you can add this to your guide. I trade a lot and one time there was a whimsy dragon that showed me the floridisa and sayed it was the most exclusive rare item ion all of webkinz world! I was very angry that she lied to me but instead of exiting i asked her if she if was telling the truth! She said she would never lie so i told her that the thing was only a food. She said Sorry over and over and said someone told her it was exclusive and she traded her pet item, a super bed and a magical charm forest table for it! She was so happy that i told her! Some people just dont know! Then i showed her my Toucan food and she thought it was a dance floor! She tried to trade me three super beds for it! If I was a scammer i could of hit the Jackpot! But I will NEVER EVER be a scammer so i told her! So if someone shows you something just ask them if they are telling the truth and then confront them! If they exit, they probably new they were lieing to you! If they say I am sorry I did not know, They prob got scammed and just went on what that person was saying! I trade a lot in kinz chat plus and that how I know all this! Also if they saythey didnt know Ask them if they are new to trading! The whimsy dragon was new! So if they say yes give them a few pointers! Someone did that to me and I was so grateful to them!!!! I am sure they will be grateful to you also!!! Just thought I would share! again thank you for the awsome guide!!!!!!
Thank you for reading this Guide, and hopefully now you know how to stay safe in the Trading Room!
If you have something you would like to add, you can post it on here and I will add it to this Guide, and give you credit. I hope this Guide was helpful and I wish you all luck in staying stafe, and staying away from Scammers while Trading!
