Duplicated Items bring Mass Banning

If anyone has a concern about their personal account, they should contact Ganz directly. Let's not speculate about the bannings of accounts that we are hearing about second-hand. That's how rumors get started. --FIA


A friend told me that her little sister had been banned for six months for trading "duplicated items" which I do not understand. She was told that a large number of accounts were being banned for these duplicate items in the trading room.

This girl is no computer wiz so she is not doing the duplication (however that is done). She is terrible at math and science much less computer science.

I did notice that a few days ago some pet was offering quite a lot of nice items. Seemed odd to me. I was not interested (I don't have anything of value to trade for those items).

Any else hear about a lot of people being banned?

There are occasions when my items in my dock will duplicate themselves, or turn one item into the item right next to it. It happened to some pink plush chairs I had once. In my dock I was told I had three, but I knew I only had two chairs. I put all three into a room, left the room, and logged out. When I went back in, two chairs were still in the room, and one was gone. I scanned my dock and found that one of my other pieces of furniture had temporarily disguised itself as a pink plush chair. Weird.

Maybe your sister's situation was because some glitch like that was happening to a bunch of users at the same time. I guess it would allow them to put up items that could potentially turn into something else, or even disappear!

I don't know, I'm probably way off here.

Was she only banned from trading or from her account altogether.....I have heard from Ganz that there are multiple accounts being shut down as they had duplicated items in the account. It did not matter that the person only traded for an item that was duplicted....and did not have the progrmaming to duplicate it themselves....Ganz replied...You are responsible for what you trade for.....I have heard that there are even kids accounts that have been deleted.

How are we supposed to know what is a duplicated item and what is not????

Oh, boy, don't you just love it. GANZ replied that you are responsible for what you trade???
If I have say a "volleyball net" and GANZ duplicates it in my dock, now GANZ is showing that I have 2 but in reality I own 1. Now if I go to the trading room and trade MY "volleyball net" am I to understand that GANZ will ban me?

If this is what is happening GANZ needs to get a grip. How do they think they can punish people for not doing anything wrong???

GANZ is banning for having more than 1 item on an account at once? I REALLY wish I could give them a call.

Duplicated does not mean that you have two snow white dresses. In this case some computer guru has a program that can create Webkinz items (like the purple witches hat that is in high demand) and somehow (again, I have no idea) gets it into Webkinz and trades it. The item is a fake.

How this works I am completely clueless. How we can protect ourselves against these duplicated items is beyond me -- maybe Ganz can make a "duplicated detection machine" and take these duplicated items away. I would much rather have a fake item taken from me by Ganz than to be banned because I had no idea how to identify a fake.

Bad timing Ganz....it's the Christmas season and lots of us are making decisions to buy Webkinz. I sure am having second thoughts.

Hm.

I was awarded 2 Beauty School Credenzas by mistake. I had them both in the same room, right next to each other. There they stayed for about a week -- and then poof! one of them was gone. I wonder if my account would have been terminated if I had tried to trade one of them?

Zooz, close to what a duplicated item is except Ganz is on the lookout for the more sinister ones - the fakes that were created intentionally and traded intentionally.

The big point is the innocent are being punished.
