As a person who just went through the Gift Training program I must say it is the most fun I have ever had on Webkinz Insider. That being said, I think anyone intending to apply needs to be ready to commit to the training. It is fast paced and takes some organization and committment. It is completely worth the time spent and the more you do the more easy and comfortable it becomes. If you really want to trade then make sure you really want to train. The Gift Coaches are very helpful and always open to your questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions, that is the only way to learn the correct ways and etiquette of the Gift Exchange. You get back just what you put into it. If you barely have time for it, then don't expect much in return. Sorry I know this sounds negative and really it is not. I loved it...but it was work and committment. I put all my effort into it and got back so many good things. The most important being the friendships...those people who took the time to work their trades and get to know each other. It's not all about what you "Get" it's about the giving also. I hope this helps you to make your decision. I also hope to see you be as "Gifted" as I have become from this experience. Thanks for making this thread! I have been pondering the same question for quite some time now. Everyone's responses are very helpful! You all rock!
Though it sounds like a great thing to do, I think I will wait until my life is less hectic. I have too much going on with a HUGE "to do" list around my house and many activities with my kids and family that I can't guarantee that I can be on that often. Some days it's a challenge enough doing the dailies on our 5 accounts and dailies on other websites too! Hopefully things will settle down at some point and I can reconsider it. | | | 04-13-2009, 08:00 AM | #44 | Amaridy Wrongshu Gifted Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 28,928 | Re: should i apply to become gifted? The benefits of having a safe environment where your trades are pretty well guaranteed and safe FAR outweigh the trading rooms in WW.
Firstly; we don't use the trading rooms. WIGEV was developed long before the trading rooms and uses a Feedback system where you can track the users trading activity.
I am proud to say that I (personally) have NOT seen anyone below the 100% feedback mark. That means that we are ALL accountable to the trades we make here and they follow through.
If there is a problem with that, there are Moderators and Admininstrators who will assure that the trade goes through and that traders are treated fairly.
You don't have to worry about scamming, people here know what the values of the items are by they time they reach gifted status. That is the beauty of the training program.
The Gift Coaches are there to guide you through your first trades and they are fairly easily accomplished because they are items of lesser value (Really who wants to lose Plumpy's Glasses in a trial trade, right )
Once you have fulfilled the Gift Coaches requirements, you get a PM from Administration that you are moving on to the BIG GE.
When you get there IT IS AMAZING!! It is like going from Wal*Mart to WALT DISNEY WORLD!! The change is phenomenal and you can find just about ANYTHING you could ever want. Everyone is kind and courteous and you don't have to go through 50 trades that are yucky to get to that ONE good trade.
Yeah...on the whole...I seriously like being Gifted | | | 04-13-2009, 08:20 AM | #45 | Anti Twilight. Webkinz :) Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 7,908 | Re: should i apply to become gifted? I would apply, but only if your positive that you have time to stick on the computer a while longer.
