Come here to post and find Quick recipes for your family!! Hello friends and fellow WI members! Several friends of mine wanted to do a recipe thread where real people post there real recipes for their families! AngelofHarlem , Gostop and several others really thought it was a great idea and wanted to do this with me! So, If your stumped on what to make for dinner, tired of the same old stuff, want a fast and delicious recipe that can get you in and out of the kitchen real fast so you have much more time for family and of course WEBKINZ....then this is the place to come! Feel free to post any recipe you know , or any recipe your family loves that is quick and easy and delicious!!! Feel free to comment on any recipe you tried or even tweeked a bit to your own liking!! I will start tonight with the meal I just made for my family. I was literally in and out of the kitchen in 30 min! Try this , I think you will enjoy it! NOTE....Please no chatting about other things here, it's just a recipe thread, of course comment if you made a paticular recipe or think a recipe sounds great! But I beg my friends who chatted on my GE all the time, this is not the place for that!! OK!!! Tamster's Shephard's Pie 4 lb's Ground Beef 3 Can's Corn (or 2 bags frozen ) 1 Box Butter & Herb Instant Mashed Potatoes 1 Stick of Butter 10 Cloves of Fresh Garlic Salt & Pepper Paprika 9X11 inch Deep Baking Pan (like you would use for Brownies) Ok...Take your garlic and mash it up, then throw it in the pan with the raw hamburg, and brown the hamburg till done. While Hamburg is cooking prepair your mashed potatoes as directed on box...you can use fresh mashed potatoes..but that will take alot more time..and who wants that???? LOL!!! Drain the hamburger and then salt and pepper the mixture...I used about a teaspoon of each. Note...I do not measure in anything I cook, so you will have to judge what you think your family would like. Then spoon it into the bottom of the pan, if you want to lightly grease the bottom of the pan you can. It will make it easier to scoop it out when it is all done. Next...open all can's of corn and drain them...spoon over the hamburg evenly , just like your layering ...then take the stick of Butter and place pads of butter evenly around the corn! Don't be fussy....just slap it on! LOL!! Then salt and pepper the corn ! Next....spoon on the mashed potatoes , spread it to cover the corn and butter pats! Then sprinkle on Paprika and put in over on 375 Degrees for approximately 30-40 min! You will know it's done when the top of the potato is kinda crispy!! Then take out and enjoy!!!!! Yum....Hope you like it!! Here are some more recipies from other members I think you will enjoy too!! Cinnabun Cookies Submitted by: LEEMA Rated: 4 out of 5 by 43 members Prep Time: 30 Minutes Cook Time: 8 Minutes Ready In: 1 Hour Yields: 36 servings
"These are cinnamon flavored cookies with a cinnamon filling. They are rolled, cut and baked just like cinnamon rolls. Try them with a confectioners' sugar glaze." INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening (I used the blue box crisco)
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon DIRECTIONS:
1.In a large bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup butter, shortening, light brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time then stir in the vanilla. Combine the 1 tablespoon cinnamon, flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour.2.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small microwave safe dish, heat the 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup of butter and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in the microwave. Stir frequently until butter is melted and the mixture is well blended.3.On a lightly floured surface, roll out each half of the dough to a 12x6 inch rectangle. Spread 1/3 of the cinnamon mixture over each rectangle. Roll each one lengthwise into a log. Cut into 1 inch segments. Use remaining filling to place a small dollop of the mixture onto the cookie sheet where each cookie will be placed, About every 3 inches. Place 1 cookie onto each dollop with the cut side down.4.Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Flip cookie sheet over onto a tray to remove cookies while they are still very hot. If the cookies are stuck, heat the pan in the oven again for a few minutes just to soften the dollops.

I also made a icing for the cookies when they come out of the oven I spoon the glaze or
drip from the spoon in circles or you can just dip the whole top of the cookie in the glaze too.
1 T melted butter
2 T hot milk
dash of allspice
mix well
add 1 cup of powdered sugar
keep adding and mixing until desired consistency.
add on top of cookies after baking glaze
Yum Extra note
I baked mine at 350 for 9 min my oven is a convection oven and it cooks faster than a regular oven. I also used parchment paper but you don't have to. Keep an eye on them.
I rolled out the cookie dough added the sugar/cinamon mixture and then I put the 2 rolled cookie dough rolls back in the fridge to chill a bit more just to make it easier to cut this works really good use a sharp knife its easier.
Try not to eat the dough LOL smells really good.
Just made these they are so fantastic I glazed right away and let the icing sugar cool
to set. Last edited by angelofharlem; 03-03-2008 at 08:47 PM.. Come here to post and find Quick recipies for your family!! Hey Tammy! Great Idea! I have an easy cobbler recipe for you:
Any 1 can of fruit
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup self rising flour
2/3 cups milk
Preheat oven to 375o. Heat in a pan on the stove, your can of fruit, 1/2 cup of sugar (optional), and the butter. When butter is melted put the mixture in oblong glass pan, 13 x 9. Mix in separate bowl remaining ingredients, the cup of sugar, flour and the milk, until you have no lumps. Pour this on top of fruit mixture and bake for 25 minutes. You can use a can of Peaches, Pineapple, Blueberries or Blackberries. Takes maybe 10 minutes prep time.
