I'm trying to get my parents to buy me a slider since they are $19.99 at our pet store. My mom says no since they can get kinda slimy and gross. I love turtles though, they are my favorite animals.

Cool! Me and my three older brothers caught a turtle and named it . . .Bacon. Then he died, and we have been naming turtles Bacon ever since. Our most recent turtles where named Sheldon and wally. I love reptiles!

Flairfive~Cool hope you get a slider, But there not going to get slimy if their in a clean tank. Just change the water once a week and they will be fine. And only feed the once a day, it keep the tank from getting dirty and the turtles still get enough food. If you also use a rag or a paper towel to wipe the walls on the inside it will keep it nice and clear. And they need a heat lamp and a rock that comes out of the water under the lamp so they can sun bathe, it keeps them healthy and they can't live without it.

Than ks Penny Lane. I did tons of reserch to make sure I could care for it if theylet me get one, but my mom's never going to say yes. Oh well, I'll live.

Aw! They are really cute! I like turtles too, but I don't have any, just a big dog.

My Mom likes them too. Whenever she sees one in the road, she stops, no matter how much traffic there is, and moves it to the side of the road.
