Welcome to the June 15th DCT!
Today celebrates the anniversary of Benjamin Franklin's kite experiment in 1752.
In June 1752, Benjamin Franklin began to study the atmosphere with kites,which led to extensive meteorological work that continued for 150 years, until the airplane was developed.
Kites are a delight to watch in flight - and a whole lot of fun to fly! It's quite a tricky hobby to get the kite in optimum shape (kids young and old love the challenge of making their own kites). It is a scientific process to make a kite just as it is a scientific procedure to fly a kite as weather condition is crucial.
If you've got a small breeze and sunny skies where you are this afternoon, I hope you can take advantage of this perfect kite flying weather and go to the park or somewhere with lots of area to navigate your kite.
