Eventually I noticed that while some pets and PSIs (pet-specific items) have "matching" themes to go with, others are quite a challenge to place.
My daughter's pets are all horses. We limited ourselves to medium-size indoor rooms and avoided using collectibles and unique items. Naturally, each room must have had a bed. Here are our picks, in the order of purchasing:
1) Brown Arabian (PSI: wall picture) girl called "Sandra Junior" after my daughter's toy horse
That was her first pet, and the PSI is nice and easy to place, so the choice of Country room style was kinda natural. This is her "signature" pet that has no designated outfit except for the KinzStyle shirt matching that of my daughter.
2) Pink Pony (PSI: pink treadmill) girl called "Pink Sparkle"
With plenty of pink room themes to choose from, my daughter picked Ballerina setting to go with matching Ballerina outfit. The treadmill blended in flawlessly.
3) Black Friesian (PSI: hay-made sofa) boy called "Jet Lightning"
That was one of the toughest pet items to accommodate. It is very "outdoorsy" but can only be placed indoors. After a long debate, we went for Garden walls and floor, a bunch of wheat heaps from the Fall Festivals, a few theme-fitting decorations and a W-Shop "farmer" outfit complemented by straw hat from Vacation Island. We are still looking for the Sunflower superbed and possibly some indoor pumpkins to finalize the room.
4) Horse (PSI: treadmill) girl called "Hershey Kiss"
The item is a bit featureless and has "outdoorsy" look so it posed a challenge. We are still undecided on the room design but it will likely be sport-oriented because Academy Recess sport set (T-shirt, pants and cross shoes) snapped in like a second skin.
5) Grey Arabian (PSI: genie lamp) boy called "Dust Devil"
The room theme of Magic was the easiest choice but we were undecided on clothes - right until PJ Collie kindly offered to tailor the Wizard's Apprentice Robe for us.
6) White Albino (PSI: umbrella table) girl called "Snow Flake"
The item has the "outdoorsy" look but fortunately, it fits nicely with Beach room theme. A bunch of Vacation Wheel prizes thrown in plus Vacation swimming set made a great setting.
7) Clydesdale (PSI: fireplace) and Pinto (PSI: wooden bathtub) boys called "Power Puff" and "Oreo Cookie"
Both items blend nicely with the Medieval theme but we stood by our decision not to use the collectibles. In the end, we decided to let them share a Log Cabin room with Pirate walls and floor and a few color-coordinated decorations. We are still open on clothing.
8) Unicorn (PSI: meadow bed) girl called "Fairy Tail"
The item is really good looking but doesn't fit the "natural" Fairytale room theme. We were sorely tempted to let the pet camp in our Charm Forest collection room but ended up with a Conservatory and a whole bunch of potted plants and flowers. As for the clothing, we had plenty of Charm Forest apparel to spare.
9) Zebra (PSI: car) boy called "Lucky Stripe"
This is our latest acquisition. We are still torn between a jungle forest and a garage.
We welcome any suggestions, as well as stories about your own "pet-specific" design! |
