Were you trying to put it in the middle of the room? The griffin fireplace works in indoor rooms as a wall decoration only. I haven't tested it in an underwater room yet.

This may be a glitch with your specific account and contacting Ganz is the best avenue here. I tested it out and it can only go inside only

I did give my griffin an inside room, and tried to place it on a wall but all I got was the red square, no matter where I tried to place it. I figured it was an inside item, but that's weird too, since the griffin gets a treetop room, you'd think they'd give you an item that would work with his room. Oh well, no loss. I got a good trade for it, I just hope it worked for the person that got it.
