I have a best friend that has been my best friend for over 35 years. We used to live 2 blocks from each other, but now we live 2,000 miles from each other. We don't see each other very often, but we do keep in touch by phone. (She doesn't do the computer email thing) She was here this past summer and while we were talking she said to me, "We may not talk for 6 months or more, but when we do, I feel like I just talked to you yesterday".

Our kids hung out together in school, and keep in touch till this day.

Now, I have aquaintences, but still only one best friend.

I went through the same thing with my daughter when she was in middle school, but once she got to high school she joined a couple of clubs and made some really good friends. She is now in college and still see these friends on a regular basis as well as having made many more new friends. Hang in there, I realize it seems bad now but I' m sure the right people will come along and you will make some great friends. Try joining a club or sport, that is also a good way to make friends.

I am sorry to hear you have no real great friends, but i can say that things will change and people will see you for who you really are, and i am sure your GREAT!. My daughter was having the same problem in school when she was a little younger so i know what you are going through>Some kids think its cool to be mean to the ones they know they can be mean too. But here on WI, everyone is nice, so i know you will have no problem making friends here! i will add you to my friends cause i need some good ones too

You can add me too if you like. I am still pretty new on here and finally feel comfortable with posting. So now watch out everyone, find the duct tape...quickly. lol. I talk alot, even if I am the only one listening.

I had one friend at a time going through school and I would keep losing them because we would move. It's a bit better now but I think it takes time to make friends and, in school, too many kids are worried about appearances and don't really think about becoming friends properly as a result.
