I am nearing the end of all the sets, but I know many who are taking longer due to not enough money and some who have just started collecting resently. I love the new set (Palace Princess Theme)that they are adding. I wonder how long it will take to see the whole set. | | | 11-04-2009, 10:35 AM | #14 | orld's Slowest Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 1,242 | Re: When will they ever retire rare themes? Looks like you'll get your wish!
If they add one, they will retire another... stock up quickly! There seems to have been a lot of Science and Egyptian items recently, my guess is one or the other of those two.
Don't much care for all the pinky stuff, so the new one won't be a fav with us. | | | 11-04-2009, 10:42 AM | #15 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 1,075 | Re: When will they ever retire rare themes? I like the idea of a Caveman theme it would be great with the dinos. Some new items would be nice the motorcycle would be cool. I know I am still looking for pieces for the Acient theme. | | | 11-04-2009, 11:07 AM | #16 | Lil Kinz Join Date: Sep 2009 Posts: 2 | Re: When will they ever retire rare themes? I think it is a great idea to retire some of the rare items. No one wants to trade for them most of the time because they want new pet items. I they retire something it would make that item more valuable and more tradable.

I think in light of how tough it can be to collect, with the extremely high prices of rares, that it would be tough to retire a theme. ...little ones trying to collect would have a very tough time
For example, my oldest decided that she wanted to collect the aztec all on her own...no charity from me, mom.
And she has been working since it came out. She still has many pieces she is saving for.
She has alot on her plate, school, homework, student counsil, after school activities...and so on.
And with all the discounts and over priced normal items. I would rather Arte kicked those to the curb leaving room to more rares themes.
Also I have noticed alot of the same rares being consistantly offered within far to short of a time period...
Another thought is that maybe he could offer more rares within the same day and cut back on duplicate rares clustered so close together.....just a thought. Well, if they retired a rare theme, it'd just go right back to the Curio Shop... Though I'm still (lazily) working on my medieval bedroom, and want to try and make a room using the Aztec theme, so I hope they don't retire rare themes... | | | 11-04-2009, 02:46 PM | #19 | WWID NanRei1 Webkinz :) Join Date: Nov 2008 Posts: 744 | Re: When will they ever retire rare themes? I believe Ganz could add new rare themes without retiring any of the existing ones. They just wouldn't be as available as they are now. We must remember there are new member to WW everyday and those people need a chance to complete their collection also. I have lots of all of them but we must not be selfish about it. I love the early american (Indian) theme idea. Just think...bright colored blankets, pottery, stucco walls, horse/cattle skulls for wall decorations. WOW just think of it. | | | 11-04-2009, 02:58 PM | #20 | Banned Join Date: Aug 2008 Posts: 5,584 | Re: When will they ever retire rare themes? Older collecters who get the items will treasure them for the amount of KC it took to get a theme, and that means newer collecters who came along when the theme was retired would have a very hard time trying to convince them to give up their items.
That does lead to another problem. If Gnaz doesn't retire a theme, but keeps adding new ones, then it will be harder and harder to find each item | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
