Thanks, BASMAT! I so understand what you mean. I just did the WOWishes and got 50KC!!! Geez...I can get that much just playing in the arcade!!! I don't understand why the Wheel of WISHES can't be all Wish Tokens. Well...at least I didn't "win" that stupid looking Mohawk! lol!
In just the short time I have had a WK, I have seen changes that I really don't care for. It didn't take me long to figure out that there is a real "gambling edge" to this game. It's not that big of a deal with adults, but I don't think that's something they should be showing the younger WK owners. And yes, you are right. Trying to "win" something on WK is a bit like gambling. I think Ganz should really rethink this policy.
As for earning money with just two WK, yes...it's a little hard. I play a lot of games. Mostly Tile Towers, Cash Cow, Zingoz Pops, and the card games. I bought a lot of stuff when I first started on WK, but I've sold most of it. I would rather get some of the holiday stuff or the Egyptian stuff when I can. I have a fairly nice garden so my little WK eat mostly garden food.
My account doesn't run out until June or July of 2010. I will at least stay until then. After that, I don't know. WW is so much fun, but the lack of fairness and hard to win games (like Arte's Gem Hunt and the Star Search) are taking much of the joy out. I don't want to have to work a year of my life here just to get a gem-filled crown or star throne! Geez...I wouldn't do that in REAL life!
Well...I'll hang in here if you will, BASMAT! At least is a fun and fair place to be!

I'm sorry that you are not finding WW as fascinating as some of us are. I've been involved with WW and WI for over a year and find it endlessly entertaining. A few quick thoughts here:
The Wheels are games of chance without being gambling because you are not betting your own stuff and have nothing to lose. It is a way for GANZ to provide the less skilled (ie: younger) players with kc, food and items. If you don't do well on them, consider it a compliment to your own abilities to earn kc unaided. If the kids are not exposed to any negative comments, many of them will find "sap glop" to be hilarious! If you provide a child with at least one charm, they will also get a steady inflow of kc and foods even if they don't get too many more valuable prizes.
Rares are just that: rare, and all the more exciting when you get one. They are not essential to the game but just a bonus. Finally acquiring a coveted rare is quite a thrill. Children may play for a long time purchasing inexpensive furniture, before they become aware of rares. The ribbons n bows and ballerina styles are usually much more to a child's taste than the more sophisticated look. Again, if not exposed to negative comments, children will be very happy with these. Let them hunt up the dog and cat themes for extra but still inexpensive fun.
Kinzcash can easily be acquired by playing the more educational games. Quizzy's questions are the best for this. General rule is that the more educational games pay more, the shoot-em-up games pay a lot less. Can this be accidental? I think not... WI is full of very helpful Guides. For an easier time with the Gem Hunt, or the Star Search, or indeed all the games, look up the Guides in the respective forums. Look for the blue stickied guides at the top of each forum, that's where the most reliable info will be found It shouldn't take a year to get a Crown of Wonders. I have so many that I'm thinking of making a United Nations room full of crowned heads of state, many sitting on their floating Star Throne, and some wearing that ugly but very valuable Mohawk. | | | 08-22-2009, 11:15 AM | #13 | Gifted Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 15,409 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... Yes, I completely agree about the rare items! It's so frustrating! So what if I have enough to pay for a movie screen, I DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU 40,000 KK FOR ONE ITEM, ARTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A few months ago I payed 11,000 for a fire pit! Well, I guess that's what I get for trying to collect every rare theme. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I feel better now. I do have deluxe, but I do feel that there should be a monthly 'thank you' item for everyone on WW. And I really wish you could trade those coasters. I ended up with a glitch that gave me three of them. They're so big it's annyoying! Well, that's all I have for now. Have a great day in WW. | | | 08-22-2009, 11:22 AM | #14 | Gifted Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 15,409 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... Hmm. . . Even though it seems as though some items are over priced, I do feel as though WW is a great place that Ganz came up with. Without it, I wouldn't have a stuffed animal sheepwith twenty different sweaters and an online samurai outfit to work with. Now that I vented on my last post, I'm a bit more calm and postitive. | | | 08-22-2009, 05:32 PM | #15 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 365 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... Webberlily, all that you have said is certainly true, up to a certain point. Children will not get the "negative" attitude, but their interest will begin to lessen, if they get too much gunk and no stars or gems. I use all the wonderful hints for Gem Hunt and Star Challenge that I have found here, and yes, they have helped a lot! However, I've noticed that some gems are in other mines than the ones listed in the charts. Perhaps Ganz is moving them around? As for the WOW and WOM not being gambling, I beg to differ. It's a game of chance, so even though you don't "use" KC, you are still gambling in a way. You take a chance for a nice prize and get clogs! Almost every single time! That gets old real fast! Yes, I sell them as fast I as get them, but still, it's disappointing.
However......no matter how grumpy I get over all this, I still think that WW is a great, safe, place for kids and adults. I just think that Ganz needs to rethink some of it's policies and work on fixing the glitches a little quicker. Take care of what you have first, then add all the new cool things. They need to remember that it's mostly the adults like me, that spend the real money buying WK in the first place.
Wow...I love a good discussion where we all are able to speak our minds and not get put down for it.Thanks again, Webberlily, you are super! And, thanks to everyone else that has posted here! WI truly ROCKS!

Your frustration is not only understandable, I am sure it is shared by most adults from time to time... regardless of whether they have their own accounts (Parents Addicted to Webkinz) or just see their children losing interest in something they spent money on...
Through the week, I probably tend to do the "dailies" as often as not for my 4 kiddos, and also the wife (recently hooked by playing games for the kiddos), as well as myself, but they all still enjoy playing the games, decorating rooms, "visiting friends", etc. I do make it a habit to tell them (most days) that I did (or will) just so they realize someone is doing the work, even if they prefer doing the "fun stuff" when they are on WW.
Ultimately, all games struggle with the double-edged sword that if they are too hard, people lose interest, but if they are too easy, people lose interest. The success of WW is a tribute that they tend to balance that fairly well, for the most part.
As frustrating as Sap Glop, "Nothing Today", or cookies can be, oh the joy of finding that last star/gem/figurine/key...
It does teach kiddos that sometimes you have to work, wait, and save for a long time to get the thing you want. Even if Dad does the dailies as often as not, and Mom plays games from time to time to make extra kc... that's a lot like real life in our house, too...
Your Mileage May Vary... (YMMV) | | | 08-25-2009, 06:38 PM | #18 | 17 days Banned Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 65,040 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... I aboslutely luv playing in the clubhouse though! that's why i stay on webkinz! | | | 08-26-2009, 04:47 AM | #19 | i wish i was a Webkinz :) Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 2,819 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... IF the dailies stayed as is for the free stuff id have no problem with webkinz because it is pay to play, in that you get access to the site for one year for 15 or 7 bucks depending on the plushie you buy.... that is really reasonable. BUT when they add all these pay to play games ON TOP OF the initial pay to play, and then the more you buy it DOES NOT HELP in decreasing the incrediable odds to win a good prize nor in getting good prizes or charms............ well, that i have a big problem with. most of the additions they have now on the dailies are pay to play. they promised buying more would yield more and it doesnt. THAT is what i have the problem with. you add that and then you add the bad servers and the lack of communication to their customers and you add the incredible glitchy website that it is and the long time it takes to repair the glitches (almost 7 months for jellybean challenge?!) well................. you can see why a lot of us just are not too fond of things lately.
perhaps if every child of every parent on the forum had to do every daily every day (after buying 40 figuines and 24 charms for each kid) then getting glop five times a week, then perhaps more of the parents would be frustrated as well. i have no problem with small glitches and things, but it is almost constant and they dont tell us about them. we find them out ourselves.
if it were jsut a few things, i think most of us would roll with the punches. but it is not. ganz has brilliantly creative ideas but they are implimented in a woefully inferior way.
i agree it is supposed to teach patience and hard work and dedication. buti think it fails at that lately because the odds at success are put too high. i agree its a fine line with games , but you have to admit it has been a stingy site from the get go....................if they just loosenid up on the stinginess i think it would help a lot of us with our frustration at the glitches and things. if it worked flawlessly then it would be fun to be on ww all thetime. if they loosened up then it would be a goodwill gesture until they fixed the servers or the other glitches. btu they hardly even admit to them. THAT is my problem. | | | 08-26-2009, 04:55 AM | #20 | Im Done 'Wif Webkinz :) Join Date: Apr 2009 Posts: 2,118 | Re: Forgive me, but I need to vent a little... I totally agree with you about the Curio Shop Prices. Even in the real world sofas aren't 9100 dollars!! Lower some prices for goodness sakes Ganz! Make us customers happy!
And why is it called the Wheel of WOW when it has gunk? Yeah. When I win gunk it sure makes me WOW in amazement at how unwowed I feel about getting gunk. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
