Forgive me, but I need to vent a little...

First, please forgive if I upset anyone or hurt anyone's feelings about this, but I need to vent a little about WW. I understand that WW is primarily for children, but there are many many adults that love WW too. Myself included. It's fun. It's cute. It's a nice change of pace at the end of a busy day. I don't mind the glitches that much, as I understand how "twitchy" computers and the internet can be. The games are fun, though some like Gem Hunt and Star Challenge take way too much time to "find the gems and stars". Geez! I'm sick of getting pieces of the space suit and slag! (And, yes, I follow the wonderful guides that you can find here on WI and they have helped, but still....) I realize that having to work for something is part of the "learning curve" here. Okay...with that said, let me move on to my main vent....the price of items in Doug's Curio Shop.

I love the Egyptian theme, but was shocked to see how expensive the items were in KC! I am always checking the Rare Items in the Curio Shop, hoping to find one or two Egyptian items. Today I saw the Nile Sofa for 9100KC!!! I about choked on my coffee!!! If I bought that, I would be left with less than 200KC! Why does that sofa have to be that much? Yes, yes, I know...I could join the Deluxe package or the estore, but I have already bought my Webkinz animals (two so far) and will more than likely buy one or maybe two more, but that's it. I'm not the kind of person that will spend tons of money on toys and stuff, just to play a game and get "exclusives", although I thinks it's great that many people can afford to do just that. Not all of us out here can.

Maybe Ganz is "trying to teach" children about the "Real World", in which life is not always fair. Fine, I get it, life isn't always fair, but....why ....why can't there be just one place where everyone is equal! No "deluxe" anything...no "if you want the exclusive room themes you must pay more"! No 9100KC for a sofa!!!! The world if full of enough disappointments, why can't WW be the one place where there are none? I'm being unrealistic, aren't I?

Okay, so let's be realistic. I know that Ganz isn't going to change WW just because I want a reasonably price Egyptian sofa. I'll just have to be happy with what I have. I know they aren't going to make Gem Hunt and Star Challenge any easier. But....maybe just maybe, they could change up the 'Shooting Star' and 'Comet' prizes sometimes. No more "cookies" or "space suit parts". Give a little KC, maybe 10 to 50 KC in the Shooting Star or a free spin on the WOW in the Comet. And speaking of the WOW, I wish they would take out the 'gunk' as a prize, and they need to change up the prizes more often. I'm sick of getting those ugly clogs! But, enough of that. The WOW is still a fun game, even if it is getting boring.

I hope that you, all the wonderful WI friends, will forgive my vent. I just needed to say these things. I feel better now, even though nothing will change.

This board is one of the nicest and coolest boards I've ever been on. Thanks to all for listening, well, reading, my vent. I don't do this very often, I promise!

There are a lot of threads out there like this, trust me, and lots of us feel your pain. WW is very frustrating, but I don't think it would be fun without the setbacks. What fun would the dailies be if the gems, stars, and good prizes were handed to you on a sliver platter? They have to throw something bad in there, so you get angry, want the good stuff, and keep coming back for more. (Though I feel your pain. Took me a year to get all the gems, still working on getting my last star for 3 months now)

Besides, we all know Ganz has one main goal. Money. They won't make WW equal, because that would decrease their income. They won't put the best prizes in the free features, beacause then people might not buy the Magic Mire charms.

I think that everyone will just have to cope. Trust me, like you, I also am not filthy rich on WW, with 4 deluxe accounts like some are lucky enough to have. I know what it's like to watch others get the good stuff. And I don't like it either, LOL

Thanks, bob nws III! It's nice to know that I'm not alone out here! And, you're right, of course. We will just have to cope with the unfairness of it all. (sigh.......LOL!) Anyway, WW is still lots of fun to play on.

Oh, you are so not alone in how you feel. I agree that it would be nice if they considered changing to something besdies the space suit, I gave up on that a long time ago. The WoW could be changed more often and SO COULD the wheel of the month. If I get one more pet of the month ribbon my head may start spinning like in "The Exorcist" and go into orbit once it shoots off my neck. If Ganz wnats to encourage us to buy more items such as the harms and figures, they need t remove the sap glop. Every time i see that, it has the opposite effect. I vow once again never to buy more (I am doing well-one month into my shopping bouycott and still going strong).

It is awfully nice to have some place to come and vent. And nice to know that people are listening and empathizing.

When Deluxe came out I bought 1 month to see what else it would have.
Not to impressed and let it expire without renewing.

I bought:
1 charm for the new Mire forest - I have all the clothing from it, Now What?
1 charm for the Fairy Falls - How many T-shirts and Candy do I need?
1 Figurine for the Woodland Wonders - Not one key or good prize to date.
1 Klip for ZumWhere - Just Missed or food. Not near finishing even 1 page of Zummies.

Pretty much all of it will become a non interest of mine because like WOW, WOM, and so many of the other activities it's the Same old Same "runner up prizes" like 20kc, Wall Medal, Recipe Food...

Mix it up just a bit is what I say.

Doug was a nice addition, because we didn't have to buy anything new. I never sold my extra gems after I got my first Crown of Wonder. I figured I can get some cool prizes for all those extras. I liked those prizes better than 4 more crowns. But I must say with the Doug glitches all my Rare gems became Diamonds (14 of them), or I got nearly no cash for gems because Doug said I didn't have the ones he wanted on the previous trade (when I did). I'll never get the fountain.

Don't get me started on Rares. 40,000 KC for a Large Movie Screen.

And I too am on a purchasing boycott -
even with a 40% Justice Coupon burning a hole in my purse

I HEAR YOU STARCHILD................. its hard to have a hobby when it doesnt seem like you can figure out the diretion it is going and what you should put into it................. it can be very vry frustrating. even though i have delux, i could tell that it would take the innocence away from ww for most of us.......................... and the innocence is what attracted me to the hobby to begin with.......................... thank you for your honesty and this thread.

Hello! First I want to say that I have always checked WI for the latest info on Webkinz and I think it's awesome how much info you can get here. I never registered until I saw your post, and just had to reply.

Secondly, I would like to say that I am also an adult who loves Webkinz. My brother was the first to get an account, and he loved the games, but it was very difficult for him to accumulate enough money to buy anything good, especially those exorbitantly priced rare items at the Curio. So, we (my mom, sister, and I) joined in the fun to help him get more Kinzcash. That's how I got hooked. A WI member, on a different post, asked how people made enough KC to buy that movie screen. Well, that's how we made our 90,000KC that we have now. We share an account and we all play the games. Getting adults involved makes it easier for the little ones. There are some jobs, for instance, like Ms. Birdy's Assistant and Kinzpost Sorter that, at level 3, at least would be very difficult for a child to do. I know how to type a little and do mental math, so it's not as hard for me. Together, we can make upwards of 1200KC per day.

Thirdly, I want to tell you that we have 19 pets, have only bought the POTM twice, but we have almost ALL the rares, ALL the Superbeds, and ALL of the POTM items. How did we get them? It wasn't by buying 300 pets, I can tell you. It was by visiting the trading room. Kids get rares from adoptions and at the Curio Shop all the time that they don't really want, and will trade them away for just about any item of value that they can get their hands on or would rather have. Kids like novelty type things like the exclusive items. It's us grown-ups who like those fancy rares!

i forgot to add, that i think what i get in my delux membership, i firmly think should be given to all members who have bought a regular sized plushie............... each month every member should have somehting to look forward to. that is how i feel. i think there could be a delux after that, with more unique things.............. but every member should feel special somehow. that is how i feel. it would go a long way in keeping people loyal and that they matter .........
i get that they need to make money, but i also get that we need to feel that our loyalty matters and something in the dock each month for all who have already paid to play would be very classy of ganz. but it seems they are really going the other way.

My thanks to all who have replied to this thread. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in my, somewhat, frustrated, believes in fair play, mind. I realize that more than likely nothing will be changed just for us. The fact that Ganz doesn't seem concerned about changing things like updating the WOW and WOM, or the high prices for some of the WShop items, takes a little of the fun out of the whole thing. I have two WK pets and was thinking about getting one or two more, but now....I'm not sure. (Although that little WK chicken is very very cute!!!! ) We'll see. I'm hoping that there will be some cute holiday stuff coming up and I will be able to get some of it. Maybe that will renew my interest in WK. Geez....I sound like such a complainer. I gotta be more positive! WW really is a cool place to be!!

no, you dont sound like a complainer to me. i share all the same frustrations you do and i have lots of webbies and all that. its just not a fair place to hang in much anymore and im not sure what to do about it for myself. it really does sort of feel like im actually in a casino gambling and loosing................... honest im not lying. it feels like that. if i saw that ganz cared more, i would not be feeling like this so badly. i feel so sad because the POTENTIAL to be great is gone, now its just fading fun. the creative concepts are wonderful, but it is being managed all wrong. and that makes me so sad. ive invested so much money and i dont know where to draw my line. and im locked out of my main account each night for five hours.............i dont think that is going to change unless they invest in new servers.............. which i dont see happening. i really feel bad for you , i dont know how on earth you are able to buy anything in ww having only two pets. it has to be hard.
