BLUE BOX RESEARCH UPDATE
Hey, friends! I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten all about you. I'm in the process of compiling data for the thread, and so have been going over the posts.
Here are some other phenomenon people have noticed: - better items in blue boxes opened in the early morning
- better items in blue boxes opened during sales in the CS
- better items in adoption boxes opened just before rare times
You are welcome to try any or all of these out... however to add in so many variables would make it impossible to track any one thing well. For the purpose of staying focused, I'll only be looking at the blue boxes, whether they're opened before a rare or not, and whether what's inside them is a rare or not... does this make sense? Any boxes opened within 30 minutes before a rare will be considered the "experimental" group; any boxes that are not will contribute to the "control" group. Who knew we'd use such higher math for Webkinz?  Don't stop posting the extra information... we could use it to test other theories later... it's just not possible to test them all at the same time.
One thing that would help me out would be... KinzTime and Kinz date... mostly it's being done, but is occasionally missed. It is easiest to compile the information when I know the KinzTime and Kinz Date of whatever account you used to open the blue box... if you've told me that, I can look up what the rare item was... but if I don't know the right date and time it could skew our results.
So, I'm compiling and hopefully will post again later this week with what I've learned... if anything. Please accept my BIG thanks to all of you for your help and willingness to do so... and your continued encouragement!

Hi Jenn,
As usual I waited until after the rare today on US acct. @ 4 pm. I went to curio first, but did NOT buy rare (as I usually do) then I returned to my gaming room which contains gaming furniture, old Christmas trees, ice cream tree, bassett hound desk, & medieval items.
4:04pm US acct. 1000kc. 
Although I can Always use KC I was sure hoping to see one of those sofa of the nile I keep hearing about!

Seems like today was the day of the not so rare 1000 kc coin!
Here are our results from 10/6/08 in the USA (4 PM Rare ~ Robo Handy Table) sitting in the Aztec Room
4:42 PM ~ 1000 kc coin
4:53 PM ~ 1000 kc coin
on our other American account:
4:55 PM ~ Sparkle Plant
4:56 PM ~ 1000 kc coin

I opened one last night on the euro account around oh 6 p.m (est) or so (nowhere near a rare) and got a 100 kc coin, i just opened another one at 7:45 est, 12:44 euro time and got a w pond and 1000 kc | | | |

I had gone into my medieval room hoping for a medieval rare but no such luck.
