I want to "Thank" everyone that helped out on this thread the last few days. I'm truly sorry but there was no way I could even get on the computer. I had an abscess tooth and DH had to take off work early in the am on Thursday to take me to the Dentist. I couldn't even drive myself because the pain was so bad. They said the infection is going through my nerves and that the tooth would have to be pulled but, they said they can't pull the tooth until the infection clears up. So of course, I'm taking an antibiotic and pain meds, but it's still really painful and I'm not scheduled to go back to the dentist until the 14th which is a Monday. The Dentist that does the pulling of the teeth only works on Mondays and this Monday is a Holiday so I have to wait until the following Monday. (Go Figure!!!)

I truly do appreciate all the help that anyone gives on this thread!!!

Your most welcomed. I do hope you feel better. That type of pain is extremely uncomfortable, even with the pain killers. Take it easy.

FYI, if ever a tooth breaks (which has happened to me on 2 occasions) and no one is available, you can take sugar free gum and place it on the tooth to cover the nerve, till you get to a dentist.

Thanks, thats a good idea!! I do have this stuff that is a temporary filling, but even that didn't do the trick!! I can't stand the pain and you are right, the pain killers are not working to well!! On top of being in so much pain, I'm starving!! It's so hard to try and eat though!!

I remember the first time I broke my tooth, it was on a piece of white bread. I can laugh about it now, but at the time it wasn't funny. It happened on a Thursday night & I had just moved a couple of months back & had an appointment with a new dentist two weeks later. Well, I ended up at my DD pediatric dentist & he patched it up until I was able to see him that Monday. The only good thing that came out of it, was that I think I lost about 7-8 lbs until it was completely fixed & the pain was gone. Take it easy & when drinking, drink room temp. drinks (nothing hot or cold). I also gummed alot of plain crackers (yuck), the saltines stung. I also had many bananas, now I will not touch. I will wait until another decides it's time to split & bother the life out of me.

Oh, my! Oh! My! That hurts just reading your account. I have missed you these past few days. Hope the pain goes away soon and you get back to feeling like your bright, springy self very soon - - much before your scheduled dentist appointment.
