Gem Hunting got harder?

A couple weeks before we knew Doug was arriving, I noticed that the number of rocks available in the mines had actually decreased. Now it seem that it fluctuates. On some days, there are lots of rocks to choose from and on others, like today in Flea Floater, there were fewer rocks to mine. I just take my time when it appears that there are fewer rocks, and wait for those twinkles to happen repeatedly before choosing a rock.

Chicke Little, here's the Tracking Doug thread. You can subscribe to it to it or find it under General Discussion and then the Clubhouse. Many folks check for Doug every hour so just pop in about 5 after the hour and the new chart should be on the last page of the thread to tell you if Doug has been found or not. If he is on that hour, he can be found in both the Clubhouse plus and the regular Clubhouse.

I noticed that it's harder to find gems now, especially if you have quite a few in your box.

Wish I would have been saving mine instead of saving for a big movie screen. OH WELL!

i never noticed
but if ur looking for a red jem i find most of them on the farthest left.

I went in to Flea Floater this morning and there were 14 rocks available to mine. The bottom row had only 3 gems to choose from. It varies from day to day, but there are definite days where there are fewer gems available in a mine.

good, its not only me
I think i havnt been finding gems since doug came along. I was working really hard on my gem collection so i could get my crown of wonder. But then i heard about doug and went to trade with him. The next day i logged on and tried searching for gems, and again and again. still nothing, and its been a week. Maybe i should stop trading with doug. Or maybe its a glitch? Who knows. it was working fine before doug

I used to go in and look for that quick sparkle and then chop away. Since Doug (and fewer rocks to mine on some days) I really take my time. I sit & watch the rocks and wait for the ones that repeatedly sparkle. Not all contain gems, but I am hitting 4 out of 5 times now where I do get a gem. I do the same for the kids' accounts when I gem hunt for them, and its working well so far.

On our accounts that have a few negative gems..we seem to be having a LOT harder time finding gems..one account went over a week without a gem.and this has never happened before...may go a day or 2..but not a week...this may just be with certain accounts...Hope Ganz gets this fixed soon!!

Same thing seemed to happen in the Woodland when those silly seeds finally were useful for something (Pachinko.) Before then, we got a seed just about every other day. Now? All sap glop and nothings.

Sigh... and I was so close to my third crown on one account, and had been selling gems on the other. That'll teach me.

I thought it was my bad luck to get a lot of sap and seeds in the Woodland - I was thinking I was doing something wrong

I've noticed it too. I was hoping that it was just my imagination, but I guess not. I haven't had a week dry spell yet though. Good luck on your future gem searches!
