Gem Hunting got harder?

I have noticed the same thing. Also, I found it interesting yesterday that the uncommon gem Doug asked for was the Aurora Rox. I only had 2. I have more than 6 of all the other 2nd tier uncommon gems except for that one. Somehow, I don't think it's a coincidence.

It's like the Star Search--I monitor three accounts for nieces who don't have regular Internet access. I have been looking for my last star, the Pyro Pearl, for more than 6 months. Yet all three of them--two of whom have only been on Webkinz for 4 months--have the Pyro Pearl.

Me too! I got my 2nd COW right when Doug trading started, and figured it would be easy to collect some booger nuggets etc gems. Nope! Slag, slag, slag.



Until yesterday, when I got a Pyramid Plunder and Arty or Marty or whoever offered me a TON of money for it (600 or 800 KC). I kept the gem because I need gems to trade with Doug. I don't recall a Pyramid Plunder ever being worth that much! It was just horrid temptation to sell it, but I NEED gems!

Wish I could trade in my second COW and get my gems back!

I came to WI just to see if there was a thread about this because I have also noticed that gems seem scarce these days. I agree that it seems to have happened when Doug appeared. I hope it's just a coincidence because my daughter only needs four more gems for the COW.

I was just complaining about this yesterday to my husband! I used to find them everyday! now not so much

Have to update after I complained! The gems still seem scarce overall since Doug popped up, as I had about three slag days last week (my most ever), then I got a Pyramid Plunder the other day, and then this morning I got the Webkinz diamond gem of the day! (Sold that ****** for a cool 1000!)

I half-wonder if Ganz plots it now so you get slag several days, then a great gem so you won't complain! Never seemed that way before, though -- I've found over 5 or 6 W diamonds in the last 8 months, and never used to have long periods of slag days or poor gem only days.

I have thought the same, too, as I've never gotten so much slag from the caves! It has amazed me how much more difficult the hunting is.

OTOH, I've wondered if maybe I'm just paying more attention when I gem hunt, now that Doug has come into the picture.......could be.....but I don't think so. And I suppose we'll never know for sure, as it seems (at least to me) Ganz CSRs are becoming more and more generic and vague with their information.

Same here with five accounts - the gems seem to be harder to find. If we had only known none of us would have been selling our gems.
