It's unlikely that any pattern would emerge, because the game doesn't act based on rock position (except to change the graphic in that spot). Each "rock" is just a glorified button, and it's the same button (from a results perspective) in every position.

My children really felt it was following the bat and they are down to needing the rare gems in each color. I told them all to read that someone else feels the way I did. It is random and has nothing to do with the drips or bats. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the tips!!! I have a question for anyone who can help-
With the Gem Hunt, one encounters multiples of the same gems. When one wins a Crown of Wonder, and one has multiples of a particluar gem, does one lose all of them, or just one of each gem needed for the gem, with the extras saved for the next quest? I have been saving all of the gems I find, and did not realize that I could keep looking for the Crown of Wonder.
