WOW thats a lot of math and a lot of time on your hands to figure it our sheesh very informative and thank you from the members like myself and my girls who just pick a mine and wish out loud please please please till a gem comes My youngest got the diamond within the first week of joining and I just got mine last week (joined since christmas (had to reset Jan 7th as my account wouldn't let me buy rooms and my pets didn't come with rooms LOL Wonderful joys of registering on Dec 25th LOL

Anyways thanks for letting me know that each colour of the mine brought those gems (plus found in other ones.)

My girls still pick the sparkly ones or the ones with a bat near them and they get a gem probably 9/10 ( or if I actually did the math probably your 75% of the time hehe

I thought you would also like to know that I have confirmed (sorry Dixiecup) that your relationship with Arte has no impact on his offers for gems. Offers are based on a set of pre-determined percentages of the normal value of a gem, selected based on a weighted random chance. About 15% of the time he will offer full value. Rarely (4%) he will offer a 20% premium. But the vast majority of the time it will be a lower offer, sometimes as little as 10% of the normal value.

For the gem-of-the-day, his offer is always double.

Arte may sell his customers short more often than not, but don't sell yourself short. Use that mind of yours!

p.s. roxygirl34: Besides, williamson_39 could explain rocket science to a first grader, so you as a logical, thinking member of WI should indeed have some idea what he's talking about here with respect to the Gem Hunt. His power of explanation is so magnificent, no one, including you roxygirl34, could be totally clueless after reading his words. Even if you only understand a small fraction of them, you should still leave this thread slightly less clueless than before, if you indeed take the time to think. You can do it!

I do have some more details to firm up, probably in a new thread this week sometime. Less math and psychology, more economics. LOL. Still a few things to work out though. I'm looking forward to your input as usual. Your enthusiasm and kindness are always so encouraging - it's a real pleasure to be in such cool company! WI never fails to attract the very best people, and it means a lot to me that you take the time to lend a hand and share your expertise.
