To get an item on the floor unstuck you place another item on top of the stuck item and then remove it.

If your in a room and item(s) just 'slipped' all you have to do is jump to another room or two and then go back, the item should be right. If not log out. I have a tea set and a few games like that. Your idea DID NOT work.
