Arrow {How-to} Make Transparent Name Siggys in Microsoft Paint! Plus, How-to Download New/Free Fonts!

Hello everyone! Ever wondered how people make siggys like this:
Click the image to open in full size.
(how to download new fonts will be in the 2nd post)
Well, wonder no more! It's really quite easy!
Here is what you'll have to do:

Step #1:
Go on Webkinz Insider and take a screen shot of a post that you made.
To take a screen shot, hit the "Prt Scrn" or "Print Screen" button. If you have a laptop, you'll have to hit the "Print Screen" and "FN" button at the same time.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #2:
Open up Microsoft Paint.
Vista users: Open up your "Start Menu" and type in Paint in the "Search" bar. It should come up, then click on it.
XP and older users: Open up your "Start Menu", go to "All Programs", "Accesories", "Paint".
Next, you'll have to select the "Cropping" tool. (First button in the right row) and right-click "Paste". If your screen shot doesn't come up, try repeating step 1. It doesn't always work the first time.

Step #3:
Select the "Cropping" tool again and click and drag it over a spot that is the same color as where your signature is. When you have a SMALL area of that color selected, right-click "Crop".

Click the image to open in full size.

Stop #4:
The blue image you have cropped right now is pretty small, right? No problem! Just grab the little blue boxes at the end and pull, that should make it bigger, so it's easier to work with. Next, you'll need to select the "Pick Color" tool. (third button in left colum). With it, click on the light blue area.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #5:
Select your "Paint Bucket" tool. (second button in left colum). With it, click on the white area. It should turn your whole canvas light blue.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #6:
Again, select your "Cropping" tool. Click and drag until you have a rectangle, then right-click "Crop".

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #7:
Select your "Text" too. (fifth button in the right colum) Click and drag to make a text box. The picture should help explain the rest of this step:

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #8:
Once you have your "Text ToolBox", you can change your font, style, size, bolden, italicise, underline, and change the color. (Select one from the top). When you want to add your text, simply just type in the box. When you are done, click anywhere outside of the box with the text.

Click the image to open in full size.

Step #9:
Crop off any useless blue stuff around the text. (select your "Cropping" tool, click, drag, right-click "Crop"). When you are satisfied, go up to "File", "Save As...", give it a title and hit "Save" (I reccomend saving as JPEG).

Step #10:
Upload it as your siggy!
("User CP" and "Edit your Signature" or "Quick Links" and "Edit your Signature")

If you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask, I'll do my best to help you.

Downloading new fonts!

1. Go to www.dafont.com. Find a font that you like (I suggest looking under "Top 100), on the right-hand side by the preview of the font, it should say something like "Download PC/ Mac OS X" click that.

2. You should get a message box that's titled "Opening FONTNAME" at the top. Select "Save Font" and then click "Ok".

3. Go to your "Start Menu". Vista users: type "Downloads" into the "Search"bar and open up your Downloads folder. XP and older users: your Downloads folder should be found on the right-hand side by Pictures and Documents.

4. Open it up and find the Font File. Double-click to open it.

5. It should take you to another page with a few different options (number of options depends on what font you chose to download). Find the one that under "Type" is labled "True Font File".

6. Click and drag that to your desktop. A message box should pop up: "Do you want to move or copy items from this zone?" click "Yes".

7. There should be a new icon on your desktop. It'll be a white piece of paper with 2 "T's" on it. Next, go to your Start Menu and open up "Control Panel".

8. Click "Appearance and Personalization".

9. Under "Font" click "Add/Remove Font"

10. A whole list of fonts should open up. Click and drag the icon with the 2 "T's" from your desktop to the list with fonts.

11. Open up Word, Wordpad, Notebook, Paint, or any other program that you have on your computer that allows you to type.

12. Select the font that you downloaded and type away! That's all there is to it!
