Some of these are common sense, some are just a supplement to the article. Any questions about programs to get or anything related , feel free to ask.
NEVER use the same password for every account. I can't even begin to count how many people I know who are guilty of this, thankfully this number of people has been decreasing.
Record your passwords. What this means is not necessarily for you to record them on the internet so you can fill it out automatically, but keep a little notebook handy and keep it safe. I learned this one from my dad, and it has actually spared me from having to create entirely new accounts. Also, it doesn't hurt to record answers to questions. The best thing is to just simply memorize them if possible.
I can not stress this enough, if you think or know that your account has been tampered with in anyway, change the password. At this point, it also wouldn't hurt to check for viruses, spyware, keyloggers, etc. Getting these programs and keeping them up to date will add some protection but it doesn't guarantee complete immunity. |
