Uhhh, he says thank you when you give him a tip... and when you try to give him another one he says he doesn't want anymore money.... so ya know... i never noticed it, he's just a computer character, he can't think like we can...

What happened to saying thank you when you buy something from him. I thinlk it is very inappropriate for him not to say thank you anymore. OMG! You are seriously complaining about this? I thought, we - as parents - were supposed to teach our children manners. If you are expecting shopkeepers (real life or online) to teach your children manners - you are going to be sadly disappointed.

Point two - I actually find Arte's idle chatter to be supremely irritating and time consuming.

I agree on both points Artes chatter is annoying hence the volume on my computer is almost off,
and more importantly

it is up to you as a parent to teach your child/ren manners, not shop keepers who have more important things to think of.

When I purchase something from the Curio Shop, Arte always says "Great doing business with you", but I think of it as Arte's "way" of saying Thank you. I guess you just have to teach children to be polite.

I am so mad at texting because I will be getting a celly soon and I don't think I'll be allowed to text because what it has done to us.

I somewhat agree with the OP. Yes, it is our job as parents to teach our children manners, however as much time as some of our children spend on webkinz, it seems they could make sure the website encouraged and enforced the values nearly everyone in society appreciates today. Why shouldn't they? And as for those of you who say Artie's manners are still there, he often doesn't say thank you for the tip, and that is more what bugs me. A tip is not an obligation on our part, so naturally the tip recipient should offer a thank you of some sort. This is not always the case with Artie. And, yes, it is just a game, but Gantz is so hung up on so many other 'rules' of behavior on the website, why not make sure their characters are mannerly as well?
