That is interesting, because I have been on Webkinz for almost 3 years, but just got promoted to the highest level a few months ago. This was because I didn't see the purpose in tipping until I learned about it; so I would say that most of my promotions came from incessantly tipping 100 KC everyday. I must have spent at least 5000 Kinz Cash tipping him. Something that really annoys me though is that now that I'm at the highest level, if I don't tip him for more than a couple days, I will be "demoted" a level. Buying items from him doesn't bring me back up, so I'm forced to tip. Then again, it's not really worth it because I can always find out the sales and rares on WI!

When I originally found out about moving up levels with tipping and buying items, I was excited to try it. And sure enough, I moved up a couple levels. But really there's no point in doing it (and wasting money on tips and buying items you don't really need) when the Rare Tracking Thread is available. Kudo's to the folks that put that thread together everyday!

I'm on the highest level on 5 accounts and I've only tipped Arte twice on one account and not at all on the others.
I do buy the rares and CSO items regularly and I think that is the key to advancing. I have not been "demoted" on any of the accounts.....even when I don't buy anything for a while.
I'd say to forget tipping him and save your kinzcash for purchases. After all.......tipping is generally a "thank you" for services and if you aren't buying from him he isn't providing a service

I have noticed that if you tip, and then do your gem hunt, sometimes you will get a really great gem!

I am currently on level 3. I can not afford to but anything!!or tip him!! i am trying to save up, but I keep seeing things that I want to buy in ww.... Like the santa room theme!! I am slowly but surely going to own the entire theme eventually..

I do tip Arte every once and a while, and now I'm on level 5 because I buy rares so often, and spend almost 10,000 KC there a week.

I used to tip Arte regularly, but the last several months whenever I tipped he did not thank me. I decided that I wasn't going to tip if I didn't get a thank you. Rather selfish of me, I guess, but that is how I felt about it. Today I tipped for the first time in several months and he said thanks. So maybe I'll start tipping again.

I was on level 7 with Arte but something happened( a glitch) to my account a week ago and now I'm back to level 1 again!
