Yes and no. Some people find Arte demotes them quickly and others find he takes his time. I stopped tipping him and eventually found myself back to lvl 6. I tipped and bought something from him and was back to lvl 7 the next time I visited him.

Just out of curiousity: Any idea how much time is "takes his time"? I've stopped tipping well over a year ago and I still get "There you are . . . ".

It depends. It's Arte and he runs on Ganz time. LOL I went for a loong, long time and did not drop then one day I was. But I have had friends drop very, very shortly after stopping the tipping and buying. That's the key I think. If you keep buying from him occasionally you are doing something to keep yourself in his good graces.

If it's because of the Deluxe, are thre different sayings for different levels on Deluxe that correspond to the regular levels?

Today, without my doing anything, Arte gave me the level 6 greeting! I must have tipped him in my sleep!
