Important Reminder: WI Members with special needs.

Hey everyone.

I've been noticing that people are getting mad at other members about stuff, and the member that is getting yelled still does not understand. Well, I wanted to make a thread to remind people that some WI members that the wonderful thing about Webkinz Insider is that it is such a diversified site with a wide variety of people. We have young kids, grandmothers, people for whom English is not a first language. We also have people with disabilities.

For this reason, you need to need take your time, be patient, try to fit in their shoes so you know what they don't understand, especially if you know they have special needs.

Special needs could be a lot of things: They can have trouble with comprehension, difficulty remembering, not realizing what is going on, etc... They can't help it, they can't change it, but you can help them so they understand.

If you look up special need on google, your library, ask people (Like your parents), I'm sure you'll find out more about it.

EDIT: Just another reminder: Don't ask the person if they have special needs - It might offend them.

Great thread, Pounder! I'm sure most of the time none of us can guess what the other is going through or dealing with. People communicate differently based on their abilities and strengths. I will try to remember that...

i totally agree. my friend Aiorna is deaf and she speaks/types in a different way. i still like her because of who she is and how she is nice.

I know what you mean. Not only could that be the reason they take a while, but they could also be busy.
