I found the "ignore the outside" pets helped me when I first did babysitting - then I was able to do it easily with no tips but my kids were having trouble and they wouldn't leave their pets to cry so we figured this one out and it works for them.
If they try to do all 4 tasks we end up either missing a task or doing the task too late (and getting double penalties)
So now we just do 3 of the four tasks - and ignore one and the we can keep all 5 pets in the green zone.
I start from the left and move to the right and do all the pets who need blankets, then all the one who need fed, then all the ones who need a stuffed toy, always ignoring the thirsty ones. I almost always successfully get all three tasks done - and the meters go up.
Then I start back at blankets again - and do all three tasks. The thirsty pets that I miss will usually (75% of the time) switch to a different need and I'll catch them the next time.
The only time we do the "skipped" task is if a pet is about to drop into the red zone - (if the pet is thirsty 3 times in a row). Then we do every task until that pet out of red.
This technique reduces the time it takes you to get through all the pets - and staggers the ones you miss by making it one job that is missed every time.
You can pick which task to skip - but just always skip the same one and you should find babysitting easier. I used to ignore the pets on the far left and right and just attend to the middle 4 pets, but over time I got quick enough that I can take care of everyone. I'll admit, this is not my favorite job, but for some reason it seems to show up more often than typing job I prefer, so I've had to learn to do it. Thanks for your tips! | | | 08-17-2009, 10:21 AM | #3 | krqcmom Gift Guru Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 5,223 | Re: Babysitting class - I win now that I only do 3 tasks.... thirsty pets are the key to success! I used to do that too - but I find this easier - the tearful pets were so distracting!
I've got 3 I can do - Gem, Babysitting and Tiles - could not make level 3 on the typing and have never managed the tougher jobs.
Yeesh - this is *supposed* to be a kids game! | | | 08-17-2009, 11:41 AM | #4 | PASTAAAAA! I've never tried that... what I just do is ignore the 2 pets on the end. That way, I get 2 strikes, but I don't get kicked out of the game, and I can focus on less pets... That's like the only medium job I can do other than Ms. Birdy's Assistant. | | | 08-18-2009, 05:09 PM | #5 | krqcmom Gift Guru Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 5,223 | Re: Babysitting class - I win now that I only do 3 tasks.... thirsty pets are the key to success! That works - and I used it before trying this way - the problem was my kids didn't like letting the webbies cry and this way they can finish it with everyone in the green zone. | | | 08-22-2009, 04:57 PM | #6 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Mar 2009 Posts: 2,052 | Re: Babysitting class - key to winning without letting any pets cry I never had to use any tips. I just set my mind to learn the job, and after only a few
failures I have it mastered (not to brag or anything). Good luck with the tips though . Last edited by Safire25509; 08-22-2009 at 04:58 PM.. Babysitting is my FAVORITE job and I've found some tips of my own!
I just drag them all as fast as I can. I don't ignore pets, I don't ignore items. If a pet is thirsty, I give him water. Hungry, I give him food. As fast as i can!
This technique works for me, although it may not work for others. I think it has a lot to do with the type of mouse you have, because I just got a new mouse and it is harder for me, although I can still do it. Each pet, throughout the game, just rises higher and higher in their happiness levels. About halfway through, each pet is at 100% and I just have to keep going and watch for sudden drops.
I have gotten 152 successes on that job, with 8 fails. I have to tell you, 2 of those fails were from trying to use a laptop mouse (don't try it, it's really hard) and 1 was from clicking start absent mindedly then starting a conversation. LOL
I should try that tip sometime- it seems like it's really good! CONGRATS for thinking of it! I'll let you know if it works for me....

P.S. I hope I am not sounding mean! I love your tip-- I just wanted to tell you what I have been doing! | | | 08-23-2009, 11:34 AM | #8 | krqcmom Gift Guru Join Date: Mar 2008 Posts: 5,223 | Re: Babysitting class - key to winning without letting any pets cry Originally Posted by Kayfookey
