UPDATE: THE SCREEN IS FIXED!!!!! THANK YOU GANZ!!!!

Recently, Ganz destroyed the secret recipes.

The update from two days ago brought about a change in the appliances that was so horrible it made me sick to my stomach: the "Congratulations!" screen and spinning sequence were replaced by a new screen that immediately shows the created recipe/gunk... But the image is so small, and low-quality that it took away what I never realized was such an important part of secret recipes.

I couldn't believe what I saw when that screen came up - the secret recipe that appeared was LESS THAN HALF the size of the original image and was BLURRY. How could that happen? And where was the familiar end-screen that I came to know and love? It had been removed and replaced by this mediocre new screen that is reminiscent of the Mega Stove. In fact, I mentioned when the Mega Stove came out that the reason I didn't like it was because of the low-quality final screen and annoying spin sequence.... I said that "It's just not the same." But I was able to ignore the Mega Stove; I am not able to ignore this.

What I don't understand is WHY this has happened? There was nothing wrong with the way the appliances were before. Why would they take away something that was so wonderful?

To begin, the update of the main screen does not look professional with the thin text update... And where did that wonderful single word "COOK" go? It has been replaced by the corny "word" "BBQ" which doesn't suit the wonder of the stove!

EDIT: I realize now that this only affects "grills." On a regular stove, the word will still appear as "Cook" and not "BBQ." I noticed the "BBQ" on my Master Grills. This is much better knowing that information.

You may ask "Why is this so important?" Maybe members won't be able to realize how influential this is unless they have solved a recipe... But the appearance of that recipe after the normal sequence in the appliances is something looked forward to with great wonder. Take for example, my first secret recipe Floridisa. When Floridisa was solved, the shock of creating my first unsolved recipe was so powerful because of the image when it appeared. That large picture is SO SIGNIFICANT: it is the ONLY place you can find a perfect-quality large picture of a recipe! That image is strikingly gorgeous every time, no matter the recipe. I am in awe EVERY time I make a recipe on an appliance, no exceptions.

If the stove had been set up like it is now because of this new update, look what I would have seen when I solved Floridisa:

The difference is amazing, and the size of the new image sickening. And not only is it so small, it is nowhere near the QUALITY of the other image. If I had solved Floridisa with the second screen, I wouldn't have been happy at all. There is no beauty in it. To be able to look forward to the HUGE image was something I never took for granted and I loved more than anything else in Webkinz World. It is such a SPECTACULAR thing, and I don't know how Ganz could have taken it away to be replaced by a thing that is more closely related to the Mega Stove or Clothing Machine. The large picture was what set secret recipes apart from everything else in Webkinz World and kept them the thing that kept me coming back day after day to log in there and on WI.

For further comparison, I could now see nearly the same size image just from looking at the recipe picture in my dock. In fact, the dock image is actually much clearer than the "Congratulations" picture because of the latter's poor quality! Now the "Congratulations" screen is not special in the least.

Are we ever going to be able to see the beauty of the "Congratulations" pictures again, or are we going to have to suffer by only knowing how wonderful it was in the past. Will we never be able to make our favorite recipe again to see that stunning picture?

I wrote this about my solve of Symphoscone:

"So I bought my waffles, my white rice, and every other food not eliminated yet, and stuck them into my stove one at a time, and after I put fudge in, hit “Cook,” minimized my screen, and brought it back up again...

I made Symphoscone.

And it nearly made me fall out of my chair. It was more than a “dream-come-true” – it was what I had been waiting such a long time for, what I had dedicated my time to, and what I had hoped for with all my being, and it had been made a reality right before my eyes. A thousand thoughts swirled through my head and my eyes were wide with shock still, even several seconds after it had showed up, and I just couldn’t believe my heartfelt reverie was in all actuality sitting in front of my face. Once I had taken in the reality of the moment, I let out a scream that brought a family member to the room thinking I must be in some terrible pain or on the verge of death, and I quickly shooed them off with assurance that I was fine.

Afterwards, I simply smiled. It was wonderful to have something so magnificent to smile about."

If the appliances are changed like this and the pictures so small, I and everyone else will NEVER be able to experience that joy again.

Ganz may not know the importance of that picture, but I do. By taking the beauty of the old appliances away, they have destroyed the thing in Webkinz World that is most important to me. I am very sincerely considering leaving their website because of this sad occurrence. I don't want to have to do that. I want the beauty of the secret recipes back.

WHAT I WISH FROM WI MEMBERS is support in my cause. All I need are more members that can try to see how wrong this is so I can let Ganz know of their fault. Please support this endeavor so I don't have to suffer with disappointment anymore.

I agree with you whole heartedly, CJ - This is upsetting that they waste their time changing something that was so lovely and that made it special to make a recipe. I also find that so many of the changes being made to webkinz world make the "game" seem so much less professional, almost as if they are regressing to a former state. I am not impressed with this "new" development, myself. Thanks for such a well worded and well documented post, CJ - I couldn't agree more.

I dont like the way it looks now either.

GANZ needs to switch it back.

Yes monkeecj it truly is the dock image they are using now not the beautiful larger congratulations pictures. I am very upset with this change as well. Although I dislike the fact that we lost the spinny screen the worst of it is losing the Congrats image. You really can't miss it whenever you create a secret recipe if you got the nice big image. I know when I solved YTT I just stood there are stared at for a few seconds and then freaked out. I hate to make it again now that I know it just won't be the same. But I do like the quicker appearance of the image and the fact that the blender screen stays up now. I can also live with the new background but I liked the older one better. It is the congrats image and the new awful ext which is showing up more and more in WW. WW seems to be looking less professional lately with their mismatched text.

I always read comments after I post and I find it ironic but also it just secures the fact that we both mentioned that the new text and general layout is less professional. I thought at first a file had just been lost or broken and this was just the backup text but it keeps appearing more and more and it doesn't look like Ganz is doing anything to fix it.

Aww... look what happened to Chortletorte!

I don't think I can live with this. In my opinion, it is the most horrible thing that has ever happened to Webkinz World.

Ganz WILL know about this if it's the last thing I do here.

You know... the more I look at it, the more I really really dislike that purple stripe that they have going on in the background. It just makes the recipes look kind of tacky. I am really not impressed at all with this. CJ I think we should start some sort of revolution about it?

What I planned to do to begin is get some supporting posts from members on the subject. Afterwards, I hope to get the message out to Ganz, however difficult it is and however long it takes. I know this is most likely not going to yield anything, but I HAVE to try no matter what. I'm not going to quit without putting up my position first.

I absolutely agree with you. I never really thought about it, but now that it's gone it is very saddening. I hope they will seriously consider returning the old picture. I don't mind waiting for the spinny screen. I LIKE the spinny screen... but I especially LOVE the large beautiful pix of the recipes. Why would they take the time and design such beautiful creative things and then not want to show off the big pix???
