You are correct, as usual. ^_^ Sorry 'bout the date - I guess "3" and "5" look deceptively similar sometimes without my bifocals. ^_~ So cabbage has been blended with pink lemonade and everything as of 11/13/09. All future pink/blender combos can safely get the cabbage tag, as can these (dates changed to reflect cabbage):
[In the BLENDER ]
bottled water + pink lemonade + everything else 11/13/09 (+cabbage)
lollipop + pink lemonade + everything else 11/13/09 (+cabbage)
peppermints + pink lemonade + everything else 11/13/09 (+cabbage)
pink lemonade + strawberries + everything else 11/13/09 (+cabbage)
I'm gonna be REALLY busy this week for the holiday, so I probably won't get any more (digital) cooking done until December. I'll miss you guys though. ^_~ HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

-LordRaidor- No problem! I know that pink is rather eye-popping.
I'm not sure if I want to change the date of combos already on the list in order to add the cabbage tag. Does anyone have any input on this? Would it be more helpful to change the date and add the cabbage tag to a combo, or to leave the date alone and rely on the whole cabbage combo being on the list? I'm inclined to leave the dates alone.
Thanks for your hard work, everyone! | | | 11-23-2009, 11:05 PM | #3356 | Webkinz :) Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 848 | Re: Information Overload Originally Posted by Amneris No problem! I know that pink is rather eye-popping.

Thanks for your hard work, everyone! I agree that you should leave the date alone and rely on the whole cabbage combo being on the list.
I also think it would be more helpful if you included cabbage in the alphabetical lists of combos instead of at the end and also if you put completely eliminated ingredients at the end of the appliance to which it applies.
cream soda + marshmallow + ee (+ cabbage) = 96 gaks - blender
granola + marshmallow + ee (+ cabbage) = 96 gaks - blender

I also think it would be more helpful if you included cabbage in the alphabetical lists of combos instead of at the end and also if you put completely eliminated ingredients at the end of the appliance to which it applies. Thanks for the input, yajeulb! Here is my reasoning on those issues: The alphabetical listing is partly based on making the list easier for everyone to navigate, but it's also based on the alphabetical listing in the W Shop. Trying to alphabetize cabbage might throw some people off since it's not in the W Shop. Would I put it under "f" for "farm fresh" or under "c" for "cabbage"? Also, some chefs choose not to do cabbage in their combos, while others choose to work with cabbage exclusively. Tracking cabbage separately works best because of this. The listing of cabbage came to an informal vote a while back, and almost everyone said they wanted it on the list separately.
Putting the completely eliminated ingredients way at the bottom of the list with very little fanfare is kind of a selfish choice on my part. I don't want people to rely on what's completely eliminated too heavily, because that could lead to incomplete combos reported as "with everything else" and making it onto the list with a current date instead of being listed with an adjusted date to show what's been skipped. I had nightmares that that was what had happened with YTT until Pat solved it. In fact, I think I will add a note right now about the complete eliminations currently listed applying only to Tusslepuff.
I am always open to input and suggestions, and if I find that a lot of people want me to make changes, I absolutely will! This thread is here for WI chefs, so anything I can do to make things easier, please let me know! | | | 11-24-2009, 03:09 AM | #3358 | Webkinz :) Join Date: May 2009 Posts: 82 | Re: List of Eliminated Recipe Combinations, Volume 2: Updated 11/24/09 1:34 a.m. KT Nothing but Blech & Gunk!
