Sorry sydney, I had told myself a while ago that when we eliminated 33 ingred. that that was it with YTT for me, there had to be a mistake somewhere and don't worry, from now on I am trying combos with all 95 ingredients which means I only will be doing a couple a day.
GOOD LUCK!! | | | 01-15-2009, 11:15 AM | #134 | So this is love Gift Guru Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 5,090 | Re: List of Eliminated Recipe Combinations, Volume 2: Updated 1/13/09 10:57 p.m. Originally Posted by AChip Sorry sydney, I had told myself a while ago that when we eliminated 33 ingred. that that was it with YTT for me, there had to be a mistake somewhere and don't worry, from now on I am trying combos with all 95 ingredients which means I only will be doing a couple a day.
GOOD LUCK!! Oh I'm so sorry Achip, I didn't mean for it to come out like that.
I am almost done with the tests that I wanted to do with YTT, and then I will quit for the meantime, too. Poppaballoo is the only recipe I've ever wanted to solve. I would trade solving Rextexmex for solving Poppaballoo any day, even over YTT. | | | 01-15-2009, 11:23 AM | #135 | Good Luck Chefs!! Sydney: no need to apologize, I know how much you want to solve Poppaballoo and I definately did not take it the wrong way.............just was explaining my reasons for switching back to the stove.

GOOD LUCK sydney!! I'm just so frustrated too...I thought that my list would produce a YTT for sure, and I'm down to the last few on the list. I wouldn't have spent thousands of KC doing this list if I thought it would come to nothing.
And I've never understood why 33 ingredients eliminated means that we made a mistake. Yes, it's probable, but not definite. There are still thousands of possibilities out there. | | | 01-15-2009, 12:20 PM | #137 | Good Luck Chefs!! Let me see if I can explain this correctly, if not, I'm sure monkeecj will explain it in detail:
There are 97 food items
We need 3 food items to produce a recipe 1/3 of 97 is 33 (not exactly..it's 32)
So if we have not made a mistake when eliminating 33 items, the recipe should have been solved.
Did that make sense sydney.........if not, ask monkeecj......at least I think I explained it correctly.
Either a mistake was made somewhere or they used an ingredient that was used in a set. | | | 01-15-2009, 12:44 PM | #138 | So this is love Gift Guru Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 5,090 | Re: List of Eliminated Recipe Combinations, Volume 2: Updated 1/14/09 10:45 p.m. Originally Posted by AChip Let me see if I can explain this correctly, if not, I'm sure monkeecj will explain it in detail:

Either a mistake was made somewhere or they used an ingredient that was used in a set. But see, that is just a probability in my opinion. It's not absolutely definite.
If 33 ingredients are eliminated, then that leaves 64 possible ingredients, right?
So for the first ingredient, there are 64 possibilities; for the second, there are 63; for the third, there are 62.
64 x 63 x 62 = 249, 984 possibilities left.
Thousands, if not a hundred thousand, of those possibilities have probably been eliminated already on this thread. That still leaves more than a hundred thousand possibilities.
If you go through Amneris' list as I have been doing the past few days (in connection with the list that I'm going through), you will see that there are still many possibilities. I see possibilities with bread, raisins, shrimp, apple, asparagus (limited), bakes beans, baked potato, coconut, kiwi fruit, mushrooms, nacho chips, pizza, pineapple, pumpkin, tomato soup (esp. that last one) that have not been eliminated yet.
Following what monkeecj did on 12/6/08, then all possibilities with a health total of 7 or higher and a hunger total of 11 or less have been eliminated. The list I have been doing is eliminating ingredients with a health total of 7 or higher and a hunger total of 12 - 14. I am almost complete, and once I am done, then I will be at a total lost of what to do next. | | | 01-15-2009, 12:47 PM | #139 | Gak Manufacturer Gift Trainee Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 555 | Re: List of Eliminated Recipe Combinations, Volume 2: Updated 1/14/09 10:45 p.m. Apple + Cupcake + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) Apple + Ice Pop + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) Apple + Licorice + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) Apple + Mushrooms + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) Apple + Peas + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) Apple + Peppermints + EE =gak in blender (-ytt set and previously eliminated, 10/1/07) | | | 01-15-2009, 12:55 PM | #140 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 684 | Re: List of Eliminated Recipe Combinations, Volume 2: Updated 1/14/09 10:45 p.m. As a former math teacher I can see both points. Statistically speaking by eliminating 1/3 of the ingredients we SHOULD have found the right combination based on the probability that at least 1 ingredient should have been in that 33%. But as Sydney said that is not definate. The odds are against it, but technically we could eliminate 90 ingredients from the blender and still not solve it if the three ingredients are in the last 7 to eliminate. I agree that there are still several possibilities for YTT, but none that really match what we know about the boost values. Apple + Root Beer + Everything = gunk on the stove 1/15/09
